Hey Chapman,
I like your groove. This song will get them out of their chairs! I like this song's melody and lyrics and arrangement. I like the production but might tweak it a little differently. A suggestion: The base guitar isn't distinguishing itself through the guitar rhythms. I would either, eq the base a bit more treble, or, eq the rhythm guitar a bit more treble leaving the base on very bottom--in other words "one or the other--experiment." But don't bring the rhythm guitars too treble, else they will fight with the lead guitar (Left). I would also "slightly" back-off the high eq on the lead guitar (Left) for a little less contrast--contrast is good there, but there is room for a bit less IMHO--too much treble gives you a late 50's sound, a "bit" less, more current. These are small tweaks from my "ears" and my modest knowledge--so do as you please. I really like your song!

Hey Eddie, Thanks for having a listen. I agree. The recording is lacking indeed itself. I threw that together just trying to get a feel for a melody line and some guitar riffs. Since posting I've changed some lines and going to re-record. Also looking a for chickin' pickin' player who might enjoy laying down a track for this. (hint hint) Appreciate your ears Eddie-mon. More is better than two! Chap

I listened on the Reverbnation page. Very cool song. When you get ready, if you want some guitar from me, just holler....

Hey Chapman- Enjoyed this song, and I'd be interested in laying down some guitar for you. I do kind of a Brad Paisley style of country guitar. I can send an mp3 of my playing if you're interested. Good Job on the song-Bobby

Folks, Thank you very much everyone for some positive feedback. Since posting, I have changed a couple more lines and words... mostly to accommodate my own singing. Plus a little bit different chord progression. I'm working on a new and studio level recording. Lisa.... that is truly a great compliment! Colin, Bobby Earl... I may just tap your guitar prowess! Chap

Chapman Jones is back in the house, so good to see you!
I think this lyric is a riot, great write.
Loved the song, but it needs a baseline in there.
Enjoyed the listen!

Hey Chapman. Nice to cyber-meet ya. You've got a rockin' tune here. The vocal could come out front more in places and you've got a bunch of 60 cycle hum but hey, this ain't the pros. If you've got a bass in there, it can't be heard. If you don't, I'd add one with a melodic bassline. Overall, sounds good though.
Some clever wordplay in the lyric too. Can't be bad.
Stevie
By the way, where in Kentucky are you. I'm from the Ashland area originally but lived in Richmond, Lexington and Louisville, where I met my wife of 29 years. Go Big Blue...Next year!!!

Thank you all again. Yup. That recording was like a 3AM kinda thing. Was going to re-record a couple days ago but haven't been there yet. So, it's looking like rain Sunday, as if we need more rain, and that's my target date to clean this mess up. Hey Bobby .... some really good tunes on your web site! Man, I really dug Yankee Cowboy. That's the kind of drive I'm looking for. TAMS!!!! Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed the tune. The Real Deal is still incubating. Hasn't quite hatched yet. I want to get this right!! Stevie-mon..... Aww, you Bluegrasser you! I'm about 60 miles South of Lexington, near Renfro Valley. Awesome to find a fellow Kentuckian with a Rickenbacker in his hand. I love it! By the way, I'll be down Granville County way next month doing some genealogy work. That's where my Jones' come from. We all's a bunch of hillbillys from way back when. Chap

H i Chapman,
I loved it as it is. Got a cool grove--grabs ya from the beginning. And natural is the way to go,lol. I don't feel qualified to comment on melody improvements--all I know is I like it a lot. Take care and have a happy Easter, Roger
