Latest effort from my songwriting partner, Rod, and myself. Sounds like a neat production TKO.
Reminds me of Hal Ketchum and Lee Roy Parnell.

Tim and Rod,
One of the few things I've ever heard here that sounded like "today's Country". Great flow to it - which is a big part of today's Country...
The production is top-notch (who did that?)
A great listen. Very pitchable (if that were still possible these days)

Tim, I don't really listen to the radio or current country music but from the songs my younger friends post on Facebook, this sounds like it would fit right in with the Drive Time hour on station KHIT. It sure sounds to me like its ready for the radio. The production is good to my ear and the singer has one of those voices you hear on the radio. Good luck to you and your songwriting partner.

Thnx for the spin, Vic. Appreciate it! -TK
Hey Lane...thanks for taking a listen. Yeah, Paisley sure knows how to rip, don't he? Glad you liked the song. -TK
Thanks Floyd. Good to know we're hitting the mark with what we're trying to do. Your opinion means a lot! Rod and I only use Stacy Hogan as our producer exclusively for the songs we write together. Really good guy, and a great producer. One of the best producers in Nashville IMHO. -TK
Thanks for giving this a listen, Dan. Appreciate that! Singer is Mike Lusk, bass guitarists in Loretta Lynn's band. We'll take all the luck we can get, thanks. -TK
Hey Cognac...appreciate your kind words. Thnx for your time, sir. -TK
Thanks Neal...that was the intent. Thanks for the spin. -TK
Thank you Travis. Glad you liked it. -TK

Hmmmm... - great write - great vocals - great instrumentation - great mix/soundstage This one cooks from the get-go! And, yup, I turned it up. Kudos on a fine production. Paging Brad Paisley..... J&B www.janiceandbud.com

Thanks J&B! Only took us 17 rewrites, or was it 18 rewrites? Heck, I stopped counting after 15 lol, but glad to hear the effort was worth it. Appreciate y'all taking it for ride. -TK

Wow...... so that's how it's suppose to be done, eh? Sounds radio ready to me. ??? Last line in Vs 2, "What’s another sick day hurtin’ anyhow" Was that in the original write or did it come later during rewrites and after the music. It's my favorite line and feels as though it emerged from the swing of the music. Just curious Sometimes the coolest lines come after the music. The 2nd line of the verse on the other hand, is telling me something I already know. Like the rest of the song this line "Coffee’s freezin’ and the toast is black" is so vivid written, that once I hear it, I already know you weren't paying attention to them. So, while the second line "Hell my attention ain’t on that" rhymes well, sings and swings perfectly I would prefer you continue to paint the picture, rather than stop to tell me something. I see cold coffee, I see burnt toast, maybe he's in the show with water running down his back. Which would say to me that he had the best intentions of doing the right thing but of course lines 3 and 4 kicks in and the fun continues. something like.... Coffee’s cold and the toast is all black freezin' water running down my backYa’ know I should be at work by now What’s another sick day hurtin’ anyhow Coffee’s freezin’ and the toast is black Hell my attention ain’t on that Ya’ know I should be at work by now What’s another sick day hurtin’ anyhow I like the way it swings and how vivid the lyrics are. Enjoyed listen All the best with it

Wow...... so that's how it's suppose to be done, eh? Not sure if this is how it's suppose to be done or not, but this is how we did it lol. Because I couldn't remember after so many rewrites, I went back at looked at the way I wrote the original idea for the song, and "what's another sick day hurtin' anyhow" was original, but it was in a different verse. We originally had 3 verses, and decided to cut a verse out and condense what we were saying into 2 verses to keep the song closer to the radio friendly 3 minute mark. I appreciate your suggestion and hear what you are saying about additional images which is a valid point, Mr. N., but my intent there was to say how he was distracted and couldn't take his focus off of her without saying something lame like, "I can't take my eyes off of you", ya' know what I mean? Besides I ain't so sure this poor dude ever made it to the shower anyway. Always appreciate your detailed thoughts, sir. Thanks for the listen and cool comments. -TK

Oh, a shower scene would require its very own verse! The pace keeps this one moving right along, with lyrics well matched to the driving music. Well done by your whole team. I think I need a cigarette! Ricki
