A balad about suicide.
Just Keep Talkin copyright 2016 OpenMikeMusic
I dont know who you are. For all I know you're waiting on someone else, but it's not like that. I just need to listen for a while, so sit back and smile, tell me all about your day. I'll cling to every word you say.
You don't know me, but you've known a few of my kind, a mind that's broken. And the distance between living and dying can only be spoken and true, so can I listen to you? There's power in your words so
Tell me what its like to be alive. In your own words, "what is life? Tell me what moves you further, faster, after everything you need to survive. Though your inner beauty shoots right through me and I can look into those eyes all day, just keep talking, there's life in your words, today.
We don't know when, but were all gonna die and maybe begin again, or it all just ends. No one can be sure, so why can't we just hurry it along? Can I keep holding on?
So I'm listening, hoping now for hope, found only in a heart, unfractured by the years, there's rapture in the tears that you cry, and your words flow with life, there's still time to
Tell me what it's like to be alive. In your own words, "what is life?" Tell me what takes you higher, your desire, the fire you need to survive. And your inner beauty shoots right through me, I could stare in those eyes all day, but just keep talkin, there's life in the words you say.
Solo
So tell me your story, the beauty, the glory and everthing that keeps you alive, just keep takin, and save my life tonight.
Just keep talking, keep me up all night.

I'm not sure I would've known this was about suicide if you hadn't said so. Is it about a veteran? I've read 26 veterans commit suicide every day.

Jim,
As an RN at a "mental hospital" in Tx, we deal with patients like this on a daily basis. Although we service veterans, this song was written more from a general perspective. War most certainly challenges the soul but society in general and the world as a whole commit suicide for a plethora of reasons, outside of the horrors of war.
Thanks for stopping by.
