HAPPY NEW YEARplease listen..... http://www.soundclick.com/bands/0/calvinstewartUse My Head For Soup © words and music by C. Stewart (Dec 3, 2015)
Gather up, your lousy friends And do it as a group Season up the old black pot Use my head for soup
Feast upon your victory My broth is bloody red Take some good advice from a Salt and peppered head
CHORUS...... Every contact leaves a trace Ooooh be careful what you touch You'll be in the slammer soooooon I got cameras in the underbrush
When you got me in your mouth Enjoy the soup, embrace it And when the truth, settles it I wonder if you'll face it
When you're dining, think of me I hope you ba$tards choke Using human head for soup Is not much of a joke
Repeat Chorus.....

Happy New Year Calvin
This song is the most macabre that I've seen you do. When I read the lyric it appeared just a ghoulish tale. But when I listened to the music it seemed like more. Particularly in the last verse when you went circular and said that a song about using someone's head for soup was not a joke...which I thought that it was?
Could you add a verse and explain why the "bastards" are gathered around the pot in the first place? A little bit about who they are? What "truth?" No need to redo the music. Just lyrics.
If you consider the song complete and don't want to...that's ok too.

Hello Martin, Thanks for tuning in, especially SO early on the 1st day of our new year. I appreciate your comments / suggestions, etc. I kinda liked the idea of leaving the WHY.....in question. So, I guess it's done :-) Calvin http://www.soundclick.com/bands/0/calvinstewart

Ah! The old head soup song. Very entertaining as usual, Calvin. Personally I like the enigma part.

My first Calvin song of the new year! Got to watch out for those aliens, they are taking over. Classic Clavinistic stuff going on here.

Hey Calvin,
Now these are some lyrics that to get the year off to a great start and frame of mind! Strange is the norm for you, but I still like your art! But maybe there is a message here that I'm not quite getting? If so, please enlighten me, or is it like Lennon said of "some" (not all) of the Beatle lyrics on their later albums--rhyming nonsense? Whatever, I always look forward to your songs!

Hi Calvin,
I like how the sentimental chord progression in the verses offsets the funny lyric. Your phrasing is fantastic on this. I like this way more than the song "Timothy" (by the guy that did the "Pina Collada Song")--in your song, you direct the cannibalism towards yourself, and that's more..um..palatable, LOL..
Mike

Calvin,
That is creepy. But creepy in a good way. Could easily be the outro for a Friday night B movie classic horror flick.
Thanks for sharing, Paul

The crazy, demented world of Calvin Stewart. But... it sure is entertaining.

Mercy! I go away for a bit and look what happens..
I like the bittersweet nature of this. Sometimes I feel very much like I've been cooked myself.
Very interesting, creepy and funny all at once. Really, this is your wheelhouse, The Ockeechobee Zappa. But very much your own voice.
