Acoustic Open Mic sound of Tammy Jann here. This is what I play out, I actually memorized this song, one of the very few. It has always gotten a nice reaction from the audience, I enjoy singing it, you know, melancholy, sad, my typical style I guess. WASH AWAY on SoundCloudWash Away by Tammy Jann © 2017 You were running away from this troubled land each foot sank deep into the sand until you finally made it to the shore you stepped into the cold, salty foam wading in deep to forget you're alone hoping a broken heart can be cured chorus The ocean holds the answers out where the waves break They will rush in to hold you and leave nothing in their wake you're coming home again leave your troubles behind and wash away the crazy world wash away the troubles in your mind open your eyes and see the darkened sky the clouds are gone and time is floating by and you fight your way back to the sand step out into the world and join the fray but the world hurts your heart in another way and only the ocean will understand chorus The ocean holds the answers out where the waves break They will rush in to hold you and leave nothing in their wake you're coming home again leave your troubles behind and wash away the crazy world wash away the troubles in your mind

Tams,
Beautiful vocal—you have just a wonderful, magnetic voice; keeps me listening just to see where it will go next. Like the melodic shift in the last line of the verses—compelling. Pretty and sad folk tune. Well done!
Best regards,
Deej

Really enjoyed my listen, Tammy:
You have a vocal delivery that has a hint of a Joan Baez vibe... and that is a great thing (even though we had polarity when it came to politics... LOL) so I hope you'll continue to develop a "style" of singing that fits your singing comfort zone. This may be the one. Captivating song... personal, moving and sad.
I know, Marc keeps telling us "Sad won't play in Nashville"... but I'm not in Nashville. I'm in the middle of nowhere and you have thrown me a life-line with your song and it's message. Great work. ----Dave

Awww, Tammy. Beautifully sad. Good vocal. Good title. I would have liked to hear more made of "wash away" in the chorus but I can't have everything can I?

Beautiful Tammy. Such a pure vocal. Fine accompaniment on the acoustic. Authentic and powerful performance with your usually exquisite vocal.

As we mentioned at SC...a strong and confident vocal. And that is a great way to deliver such a well written tune.
The chorus really sticks with you.
Nice Tammy.
We much enjoyed it.

Hey Tams,
Hauntingly beautiful mate. Can't fault the vocal, and the lyrics have a well defined double meaning.
Love it, and I bet it's a crowd stopper played live.
cheers, niteshift

Hi Tams...…..wow.....you wrote this?? Your performance is stellar. You have become quit the singer / songwriter.
What a beautiful sound you have here....again, great songwriting crafting. I can hear a violin in there....haunting. -Tom
