https://www.stereogum.com/2000087/bruce-springsteen-to-perform-at-the-tony-awards/news/Doesn't want one, asks them not to give him one, but they give him one anyway, so he will perform on the show. (hate when that happens) Personally, it's not a Broadway show, just him singing and telling story's about his life, and I have seen him 30+ times, haven't seen this. Much harder to get tix and the scalpers are charging 800+ for some seats Maybe it's like the Statue of Liberty, you know it's there, and will get around to going in....amazing when relatives visit that's the first place they go, I haven't been there since I was 9. But can see it across the river from jersey every day and clear night. Anyway, will watch Bruce kill it sunday

Hey, it's on YouTube already with 13,000 hits https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8x6i4xeNvG0So the show must be mostly spoken word, I wonder if I'll get my hands on tix? Not paying more than 200. I ran into a girl who paid 400 for Beyoncé tix...I didn't feel so bad

It's probably just a non-traveling concert. He could have helped return the favor of getting his first manager and producer's actual musical-play on Broadway with his pull. But, I guess the lawsuit from mid 70's is still something of a sore spot. Oh well. The main reason I wrote all that is from the disappointing fact that Mike Caro and I would have most likely become wanted musicians for other such creative projects had "Stage Door Johnny" been supported by Bruce. Oh well again, right? Tiss the way of all businesses. Win some, loose, and some never see the lights of Broadway.
Johnny D.,,,,, Happy now anyway, for the most part. And that's a good thing for anyone!

No, it's a spoken word concert. From what I understand the final show will be on Netflix, which I knew they were going to do.
I know you know Mikey, Johnny. Lol
If I'm ever gonna meet Bruce I'd say my best shot is you getting Mikey to set something up lol
I don't know Bruce supports an awful lot of local acts. Young bands see him around in freehold all the time and ask him to shows, which he usually will show ifs he's not doing anything.
And i was stunned to learn that he still keeps original band members on the payroll, which who else does that?
But I understand how some of these stars are out of touch with us.

I had an offer last week, to be the little steven in a tribute band.
I said no.
Money was good, but if one is not into it, how enjoyable will it be?

Wow, I'd do it.
Little Stevie is about as cool a rock star as you will find.
I'm sure you could learn alot about performing being him for a while.
I get they they are not for everyone though. It's a fusion of soul and garage rock.
My only complaint is that the guitar wasn't prominent enough In their arrangements, which is weird when they have three excellent guitarists playing in the band.
All ud need is a bandana, and a larger than life stage persona.
Little Stevie is an encylopedia of rock music, you won't stump him often.

I don't get the TONY thing-yet I do. I think the intent of the award is, and should be, for some type of play. Little Steven is cool, but Little Richard is GREAT!

It's on Broadway, that's the only reason, it means money for the Tonys and other shows too. He didn't want it, they did it anyway Did you know that Little Richard, an ordained minister, married little Steven and his wife Maureen? Bet you didn't. To me these guys all jersey icons, were the ultimate bar band(s). Back when artists cut their teeth live, they said they weren't In the music business, they were in the live music business. It's all about selling beer, netting people dancing and filling the club for the owners, hard to do. A bit later, after all the success.... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqgYBRF9Qjs
