Another beautiful tune John and vocal/production by Mike is fantastic. I love the change up in the song - Can't wait to see the lyric.

You left me on the deck of an ancient sailing vessel, wind in my hair and salt spray splashing on my face and the vision of a sweet maiden from some now distant shore leave haunting me. Incredible style and vocals that could have been sung in any century.

Wow. That chorus just grabs you. So well done. Reminds me of two of my favorite most under-rated bands, Great Big Sea and The Irish Descendants, both from Newfoundland I think. Great stuff. Excellent lyric (perfect match for the music) and Mike does an amazing production, as usual. Hope it gets continued airplay. It deserves it.

Pros= Mike's Vox n mix is awesome as usual! I love the fingerpicking guitar! Cons= When I first listened, the link took me away from the lyrics, so I just closed my eyes and settled in. Then the chorus jolted back to the present! I thought an add for "Feisty Maidens" ale had somehow interrupted the stream. You guys should consider it... "Feisty Maidens" would be a great brand name for a brew! Suggestion.... "Tavern ale and feisty maidens"

Thanks all. This was hella fun working on. When I read John's lyric, I immediately thought of the old doo-wop era classic, "Stranded In The Jungle" --it had a tempo change to signify a 180 degree shift in mood, so I knew I had to do that. I use a paradiddle (3 against 2) to go from the waltz-y verse to 4/4 chorus, and that makes it feel organic. At least that was my hope! Tony, that made me laugh! But I can hear what you mean. Now John and I just have to figure out the world of microbrewed beers, and we can get rich. Barkeep: What'll it be? Customer: Feisty Maidens, thanks. Mike

Sounds good to me Tony! Could catch on in a big way long after the song has been forgotten. Although Mike's chorus would be great for drinking and dancing too! Much appreciate the listen Regards John

Pipe me aboard... fellow "Old Salts"... and let's go plunder the Spanish Main!
Really enjoyed my listen and believe you should pitch it to a good Music Library for a movie involving the age of sail. Then, of course, airplay is always good for promotion. Great title, I might add. Best of luck always to two of my favorite JPF'rs. Much talent here... now, about those Feisty Maidens... LOL!

Thanks Marty, Geoff, Dave... You guys are the best.. John wrote a fantastic lyric and melody. Still trying to work out that first microbrewed batch of "Feisty Maidens" in my bath tub. It's just hard removing the fermenting elixir every time I need to shower... Mike

John/Michael,
What great lyrics John! Mike you always find the right magical music production to take us on a musical journey. This was just plain fun to listen to--I'm starting to really like this Celtic/Irish music. I have one small sug Mike--I feel like the tempo change could use perhaps a stronger percussive "pre-launch" to kick start that significant break--JMO. I really like the way Mike sang this song as well. Good one guys!
