I would appreciate a reply from anyone who is reporting performances of their songs or at least attempting to report them on ASCAP's ON STAGE. I have not been able to report mine since the middle of June. I've attempted to alert them to the problem more than four times via the members contact provision and I also spoke to an ASCAP service center member over the phone. And while she admitted that they've been having a problem with the set list drop down menu on the performance page, I was not able to get any resolution to the problem. Is anyone else having this issue? Has it been resolved for you? If so - How? I've been reporting performances using the ON STAGE program for years - and there hasn't been a change in the process - so it's not a matter of not knowing how report.

It sounds like they are not that anxious to fix the problem. Like many young workers today, they want to get paid but don't want to work for it.

I'm with BMI but have been reluctant to join BMI Live for fear of ratting out venues that don't pay their fees. I've lost enough venues as it is.

Then again Bob, those venues that don't pay fees, are part of the group that thinks music should be free. Everything else they expect to pay for (even toilet paper), everything except music. It's a complicated dilemma. But our music has monetary value like any other commodity. And if people use it, they should expect to pay for it (not steal it). Best, John

I've been getting royalties for years while performing at most of the venues where I have performed during this period. I did notice about a year ago that some venues that had come up on ASCAPs data base when I'd enter their name, no longer appear on the performance reporting page. So Bob may have hit on something here. But in their case, they were at least at some time in the past paying a license fee.

Summeoyo Glad I'm not the only one taking advantage of ASCAP Onstage. At one time I did have some trouble sending my lists; been entering them via Firefox, rather than Google Chrome. Maybe that will help you. Markus

Best, John To a point, I agree with both of you. However, they are in business to make bucks. So are we. Hope that makes sense. Markus
