SIMPLE WORDS HE’S MY SON
1st: Simple words he’s my son Life brought you into my world as a miracle second to none As you started to grow the learned lessons would show Achievements attempted fulfilled Isn’t life sweet You’re living your dreams As you will
Chorus: Time passes by to quickly Chases your youth and makes me feel old But the memories will not be forgotten We’re a part of each other’s soul
2nd: Simple words he’s my son I look with pride on his life and the ride he has taken us on We rarely agree or is it just me I long for the simpler times With a smile on his face A warm embrace We’re fine
Chorus: Time passes by to quickly Chases your youth and makes me feel old But the memories will not be forgotten We’re a part of each other’s soul

Nice. Simple, relatable sentiment. I like those lines that Calvin picked out too. It looks to me like you are planning another verse, assuming you're not building a bridge to nowhere Would this maybe be to take us into the future, further along the road of life?

Gavin, Thanks for the critique. I am new at this and have a long way to go. I guess I shouldn’t have called that a bridge. Need to go back and read up on songwriting. That was finished (except for rewrites). I do like your idea that it can be a bridge to more. Thanks again.

Wish my son would get married so I could finish this!
