New song muse seems to have left me for a while so I brought out an oldish one and dusted it off with a new arrangement. Not sure if the lead vocal is too hot. Comments welcome. You can hear it here: https://soundcloud.com/vic-arnold/wild-horses2Wild Horses © 2018 Vic Arnold V1 That look in your eye says it all Who knows how long You think you'll never take a fall Ride hard. Ride strong. Ch. Do wild horses ever know what forces make them run Wild horses, they just go They just go Ch.

I enjoyed listening, Vic. I don't think that the lead vocal is too hot. In fact, I think the volume could be increased just a little when the band kicks in at around the minute mark. I really like the Spanish sounding guitar. Wonder if we could have more of that somehow?

No nits, Vic:
Sounds good to me... but I'm unable to listen on studio monitors due to Wi Fi trouble. Glad to see you posting again.

Love this song. If you are able to land a couple of female background vocalists it would be the perfect finishing touch. Peace.

Hi Vic Nice work here - sounds great and has a nice flow. Love the Marty Robbins style spanish guitar and it's a road-weary vocal that draws you in. Didn't sound too loud to me. Would be good to see the lyrics if possible but the hook is strong IMO. Only minor nit I have is the bass - he seems to stay on the root a bit much - would be nice to hear a fifth played every 3 beat.in the chorus. But that's all personal pref I know. Well done writing and recording this Paul

Hi Beechnut. Thanks for the listen. Wouldn't it be great to have female backing vocalists in the toolbox?

Vic,
Wonderful, love your voice and production. I did feel that the vocal from the beginning to about 1:08 seemed a bit loud, but once it gets past that point, evens out in the mix. I think more harmonies would work, but the song is a very good one friend and you know I am a fan!!

Thank you Paul. Interesting observation about the bass. I was thinking on similar lines after the recording. I'll take another look.

Hi Vic!
I could see this song in a more modern Western for sure. At first I thought the chorus perhaps didn't have an "anticipated enough" launch upon my 1st listen. But my 2nd listen, I felt the song's verse melody is strong enough and that this just wasn't a "chorus driven" song, rather a cinematic scene song--I loved it, and your voice fits the vibe perfectly.

Hi Ed. You always have an interesting take on a song. I can see what you mean re a movie track. Certainly not a pop charter for sure. Thank you for your input.

Nice vocals here Vic I like the overall vibe of the song, especially the acoustic guitar leading the way.
The hook is simple yet hypnotic... nicely done

Vic,
Good to hear something new (at least for me) from you. Man, I really love your voice—so soulful. And as always your production is so clean . . . pretty tune.
Hope all is well with you,
Deej

Good song Vic, your photo reminded me I need to get a haircut so your posting was both pleasing and informative John

Hi Vic, I like it. The voice, and the music fit very well. I am just not sure about V2, It feels a little modern. an idea, KOS The driving wind against your face won't slow you down every foot in the right place You chase ... the clouds

Hi Vic,
I like this version better--replacing the mando with guitar right? Feels more in place with genre vibe.

I think I do too, Eddie. More stripped down and moves along better imho. Thanks for your view. Vic
