Happy Birthday, Dagny! I have a dog about that age. She was a rescue so we don't actually know exactly how old she is.
Is that you playing the violin?

Is that you playing the violin? Yes, I play the Kirk Hunter violin Gavin. Not sure of your dog's age? Then we'll make it her birthday too. Best, John

Such rich tone. Well executed. Delightful. As the boss said, once, when I did something right, once, "Mo like dat!"

Dagny's 15 and has limited vision, hearing, and mental capabilities. She's a darling and I'm going to miss her dearly. Best, John

Thank you, John, for being Dagny's friend, and Dagny for being yours. We invite these sentient creatures to live our lives with us, and often don't live our lives with them. A friend asked me to dogsit while she vacationed, "Because," she said, "I know you won't treat her like a dog." They think. They dream. They love. They mourn. They deserve honor at their place in our lives. A child, about 11, had reached a physical maturity at that age, having started menstrual cycles, which I mention because that outward manifestation of activity of the pineal gland indicates more. Edgar Cayce described the pineal as "The door between the worlds." Her grandfather had passed away and she had taken to sleeping in her grandmother's room, where they would converse as they would fall asleep. Her grandmother, fearing bedwetting common to children, told her one night to get up before she fell completely asleep and use the bathroom one last time. Coming back she said a white shape leaned out from behind the door. She said, "I had to squint my eyes to see him as I knew him. It was grandpa!" He told her, "Tell everyone everything's going to be alright." Then she said she noticed a small white shape at his feet, squinted her eyes and saw it was Dram, a dog the family had lost previously. "All dogs go to heaven," they say, and this may be proof positive. Fifteen is a long life, especially for DNA that has been bred, inbred, outbred, rebred for centuries. On the one-is-like-seven rule, well, we can do the math. Now we can turn our thoughts to our own 'dog years', and we know we've all had a few, and estimate our own ages like Biblical elders. I'm a hundred-and-thirty, at least! When Dagny's time comes, again, Biblical, don't mourn, but rejoice, and thank her for being a friend. Again, thank you, for being her friend. She will miss you with a love equal to or greater than your own.
