THEY BURNT OUR BIBLES.
You better whisper, don't shout! Don't know who's hanging about. People these days better pause because you know now there's new laws? Like those far off days of old we've got secret priest holes. Clandestine churches in caves and this other god to praise
They burnt our bibles we made more pulled down our churches locked their doors Took away every right we have told us that our ways were bad
Can't be seen with a crucifix if you do punishments quick. Still hiding not found us yet farewell brethren we won't forget Christian Sabbath has been banned no holding your brothers hand Christmas, Easter don't exist no more peace just angry fists
They burnt our bibles we made more pulled down our churches locked their doors Took away every right we have told us that our ways were bad
Folks climb mountains for a sign but there's no Moses this time God be angry we can't wait very soon it'll be too late They've discarded all our clothes for strange garments which they've chose Our clocks have returned to zero please Lord we need a hero
They burnt our bibles we made more pulled down our churches locked their doors Took away every right we have told us that our ways were bad

This song is politically incorrect. But that's the point. Our society is so obsessed with being "tolerant" that it spurns anyone who promotes moral values from a higher source than man. 4th line correction:" there are new laws"

Travis, Love this song--and no it's not ;politically incorrect. At least not all of it. Christians are at an all time for being criticized over things like abortion. Nativity scenes have been banned from cities for years. But I'm not going political. I myself can relate to the song--probably because I'm catholic. It takes guts to write a song like this--I'm glad you did
