New song by John And I, Hope you'll enjoy. Thanks for listening https://soundcloud.com/mimmo-mercurio-101415537/fly-away-feb-22-20 Fly Away Drifting butterfly... across my eyes Settled down on a fallen tree With cupped hands I held it, then set it free Fly away, fly away In ripples... in the stream I see her face One second here...then floating away Like when she was here...she wouldn't stay Fly away, Fly away In the night...She's in every dream Lovers...But nothings ever as it seems It's a running theme, when she leaves From the shore looking out to sea across an ocean wide and endless Never ending, like her...wild and restless Fly away, Fly Away ((C)John Vaughan)

Mimmo,
I think this is one of the best vocals I’ve heard from you . . . you are on top of your game on this one. Like the melody here as well, some really nice choices on the way you sing it. Production wise, I think the strings may be a bit too forward in spots . . . maybe. See what others have to say, it may just be me. But the music seems to take center stage a bit too much and I think it should be more subtle for a pretty song like this.
Really like the tune . . . great lyrics by John . . . and, again, stellar vocal.
Great job on this one, guys.
All my best,
Deej

Mimmo/John,
Mimmo, did you just purchase a Telefunken T-47? Vocals are just too good! I'm just kidding you! I loved everything about this song, sorry I didn't get here sooner. A very cinematic song.
Nice work Mimmo/John!

Mimmo,
The "T 47" mic is what most all high end tube condenser mic mfrs try to emulate for its rich, full, bigger than life sound. It was just my way of saying your vocals sounded very rich and professional.

Hey Mimmo and John:
Although romantic ballads are not "in vogue" with the younger set... this one is strong enough to be able to "pull them into the romantic web you two have woven." (Sorry for the "run-on" sentence! LOL!)
I agree with the others, Mim... your vocal on this is one of your best. John! What can I say? You write so well and can "turn a phrase" with the best of them. I really enjoyed this one on a broad front. I'm pretty sure there are movie makers who need a theme-song and you would be wise to cast your "bait" into those crowded waters.
Best of luck with it, guys. You have the makings of a great team. Don't forget to maintain that magic ten foot separation while we have this pandemic going on all around us.
Regards and thanks for sharing, ----Dave

Hi Dave, Thanks for listening and your comments.
I still love this kind of music. John gave me lyrics that are very well put together and I didn't think it needed anything else,
It would be great to find some interest in the movie industry. But with all going on out there a the moment, all attention goes to staying healthy. Take good care Dave . Regards Mimmo

Gotta agree, this is really nice. Beautiful classic feel. Great performances, with a lyric that is spot on the emotion of the melody it speaks for. Love it........... -Tom

I agree with everyone about the great vocals and the cinematic feel. Great job! I expected it to lift even more about 1:47 into a sustained note introducing a big emotional chorus, breaking free from the controlled character of the rest of the song, which would make what I take to be the chorus... "In the night...She's in every dream Lovers...But nothings ever as it seems It's a running theme, when she leaves..." ...into a pre-chorus. That is probably just me. When I really like things, I can't help making suggestions. I love the lush feel to the arrangements. Very old style in a good way. Made me think of Charles Aznavour for some reason.

Hi Gavin...Thanks for stopping by and commenting...I really like the comment about Charles Aznavour...I really liked his style. I get what you're saying about the chorus, I may go back to it in a while and see if I can make a few different things with it. Regards Mimmo
