After reading Steves comments down in the topic, I redid the song to under 2 min 45 secs and redid the video.I hope that you enjoy... https://youtu.be/B_l_0BC4N1w I also changed the title to differentiate the different vertions. Its now called 'Dedicated People & Unsung Heroes (radio mix)'God Bless to all Roy Lyrics 'Dedicated People & Unsung Heroes (radio mix)' (c) Roy Cooper 2020 verse 1 Looking from a window, the streets so bare People stay at home, feeling safer there . Fathers, mothers, children, and old folks too Alone or together, wanting to get through verse 2 Doctors, nurses, carer's, they seem so few Fighting an enemy, hidden and brand new. Retired volunteers, overcome their fears. Firemen, police, essential store cashier's chorus Dedicated people, their courage shining through With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you verse3 Good neighbours may talk, to those on their own, Many have no family, frightened and alone Some will need food, a prescription urgently Looking after them, they do instinctively chorus Dedicated people, their courage shining through With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you Bridge For all of those, behind the scenes. Whose good deeds go unsung. I wish that I could name you all 'Your' hero's everyone... chorus Dedicated people, their courage shining through With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you 'A Massive Big Thank You' Thank You' ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Roy:
I enjoyed my listen but did watch the animated video. This one needs to be "pitched" to Covid Pandemic support groups because the story line is so true. Nice work and best of luck with it. Thanks for sharing, friend.

Roy,
The animation is very well done. I enjoyed listening to your singer again—he did a great job! I’m not fond of the narrated version—just not my cup of tea—though it may work well for some. Great work!
All my best,
Deej

Deej Thanks for stopping by and having a look/listen Deej. Pleased that you liked the animation and singer/song... I did the narrated version just in case someone wants to treat the song as a talking poem... God Bless Roy

Hi Roy,
I heard this awhile back, but I guess I never commented.
I love the message & VIDEO.
I do have a thought...This song would be more focused & IMO, more effective shorter...Like in under 3 minutes, or no more than that...This is not a long song, but long for this type of song, because the music is similar. So arrangement is your friend. The Bridge comes in at 3:15, when your song should IMO, be ending..The Bridge brings in new musical info that would serve the tune better about a minute earlier...I would consider hitting us hard with your message, get out of dodge, & make us rewind...It is bouncy & fun, so take us through the song & then "bounce"...leave us wanting more...
Love the VIDEO animation & the theme of the song...A little snip, snip may make this song even more effective...
Good job Roy

Good job Roy Thanks Steve for stopping by and for your great comments. You made some real inportant observations and so I did the following. I removed a verse, and 3 choruses and did a fresh (radio mix). the track is now less that 2min 45secs and I am really pleased with it. I also redid the video to suit... https://youtu.be/B_l_0BC4N1w and changed the title of the song..lol Its now called 'Dedicated People & Unsung Heroes (radio mix)' I hope that you like what I did... God Bless Roy

Hi Roy,
Big improvement all around. This is so much more concise & on point...This is a JINGLE type tune & that CHORUS will stick in your head.
I know this is your Radio Mix, but.....I would encourage you to possibly take 1 more look at it. You need to get to the HOOK as soon as the song naturally dictates.
Are you sure you really wanna give us 4 Verses before you hit us with the CHORUS? The payoff is a little late to these ears, I was waiting for it & waiting for it.
At 0:37 that CHORUS is begging to get out....

Very catchy Roy. Anthem like for the times and our unsung heroes. Really enjoyed it. Very hooky. A true sing along. Agree with Dave - Pitch it. Enjoyed the video too.

Thanks Steve for taking another look and I am pleased you like the changes. I have written the lyrics at the top of the topic now. It's actually now, verse 1 verse 2 chorus verse 3 chorus bridge chorus repeat half chorus and for me perfect. I always wanted the first 2 verses to tell the story before the chorus and the chorus is now in there 3.5 times, and IMO, putting it in too early may be a tad too much. Now that its under 2.45, I wouldnt want to increase it again...lol Anyway, it is what it is now, and again, thanks for your comments that made me go along this redone path. appreciated friend. I have to smile, because many of my songs are 8 line verses, and 1 have 1 with 5 verses..lol God Bless Roy

Hey Roy, I enjoyed this. I notice the stress on the grocery cashiers, drug store cashiers, hospital workers etc. I try to thank every essential worker I come in contact with by saying, "thanks for being here". I think it is wearing them down. I wish they would come up with a vaccine fast. I appreciate and respect your tribute to them. Tom
