https://soundcloud.com/carroll-kiphen/peace-of-mind-2-1It’been a long time coming. A difficult climb. Thought I’d give up on my life Why bother to try. Step by step I’ve made my way Put bad things behind. Day by day I’ve made my way But truth’s hard to find. Pre-chorus What I want and what I need. Is rare in these times. There’s precious little of it. but I’m finding mine. Chorus Peace of mind, peace of mind. Finally peace of mind. Verse Been a long time passing Adjusting to life. Grasped at straws to stay afloat. Did what it took to survive. Inch by inch I’ve crawled ahead. Put anger in the past. Day by day I’ve come to find. Love is all that lasts. Pre-chorus What I want and what I need. Is rare in these times. There’s precious little of it. but I’m finding mine. Chorus Peace of mind, peace of mind. Finally peace of mind. Bridge I grew up in a broken home. Had broken bones from alcohol. But I never gave up trying. I’ve always given life my all. Pre-chorus What I want and what I need. Is rare in these times. There’s precious little of it. but I’m finding mine. Chorus Peace of mind, peace of mind. Finally peace of mind.

As I think I've said before, that boy can sing. There's a sibilance problem again, which should be easy enough to take care of with EQ and/or a de-esser.
I like the lyric and the melody. However, it does feel a little strange to build up to a big stirring chorus where he belts out the words, "Peace of mind." The music and delivery seems more suited to something more emotional at that point.
Enjoyed it.

Actually this lyric comes from an album of songs I wrote about a kid who comes from a broken home then gets put in the system till he ages out. It's about his struggles to find peace of mind a sense of belonging and love. I think this is song 6

...and the "Candle of Creativity" has "taken flame" with this well-suited team! Keep it lit because from what I've sensed, you two will probably be working for one of the big labels... if they exist anymore now that streaming is so rampant. I read the other comments... and we are all "tuned to different frequencies" because I thought the song was stunning.
Best wishes for success, you guys. ----Dave

Hi Again to both, I really like this one a lot. I don't know if it's my old ears, but I am not hearing clearly some of the first words in the verses, like "Put" and "But" and a couple others in the next verse. I know it's a demo, and it may only be my ears. Good luck with it.

This has great movement and energy and the chorus is "hooky". Some nice keyboards playing and super vocal delivery. Well done, Kevin

Carroll and Chris,
Really enjoyed this one. Love the opening with the drums (and the drums throughout)—great treatment of the lyrics and, as I’ve come to expect from Chris, just a brilliant vocal. Again, a very contemporary sound—reminds me of One Republic. Terrific collaboration, gents.
Best regards,
Deej
