Hi All,
I have been putting off writing this one for many years. It is a true story of a little girl I was one of the nurses for for 2 1/2 years. Once her parents put her in a convalescent home I never saw her again. She was 9 years old and getting better all the time but it was too much trouble for her parents. She was, and I hope still is, a beautiful soul.
Lovey
She wasn’t very special At least not to her dad Who left her belt unbuckled And it turned out so bad Under the influence Of smoke and alcohol She went through the window When he hit the pole
Lovey wasn’t loved-------------} Chorus At least not to me Ignored by the world And her family Seven when I met her Four years in the chair On a ventilator It wasn’t very fair
She was very angry And hated everyone It took a while to reach her But I soon got it done I was her nurse two years Doing all her care She had the brightest smile I had seen anywhere
Lovey wasn’t loved-------------} Chorus At least not to me Ignored by the world And her family Seven when I met her Four years in the chair On a ventilator It wasn’t very fair
Her parents put her in a home When she was only nine Tired of being stuck with her Jealous of their time

Nicely done John. Your empathy in her life and song is worth celebrating. You are truly a friend.

Hi Craig,
Thanks for the read and the kind words. I could write her full story in about a 30 minute song. Once she got over the hate, she was a very bright, respectful, energetic girl, who was happy around almost everyone. She didn't deserve to be as she was and didn't deserve to be put in a convalescent home at 9 years old.
