https://soundcloud.com/wabash-cannibal/robert-george-carefree-river-worktapeCarefree River ©2010 Al Carmichael/Robert George Carefree river As I stand here and I watch your current flow I can feel it pull me back to long ago O you reflect my lonely years Carefree river, can you taste my tears
Carefree river Me and Jane made love beside you in the night With her long hair washed in silver moonlight and the tide Then she moved on like drifters do Carefree river, she learned that from youWith ev’ry fork and ev’ry crooked bend You keep rollin’ till you reach your end and she is like the ocean now to me all my dreams keep moving towards her memoryCarefree river You will smooth a rough and jagged stone with time I have tried to smooth my ragged life with wine Please turn the tide of yesterday Carefree river, let me sail awayWith ev’ry fork and ev’ry crooked bend You keep rollin’ till you reach your end and she is like the ocean now to me all my dreams keep rolling towards her memoryCarefree river As I stand here and I watch your current flow I can feel it pull me back to long ago Please turn the tide of yesterday Carefree river, let me sail away
Carefree river, let me sail away Carefree river, let me sail away…

What is Al doin these days? He has a way of making songs authentic. I think I woulda put harmonica in there over the strings but it does say work tape.
But damn he's so good. For me i hear his acoustic, and I hear a major difference than what biab would do cause he's playing it specifically for this song. Can't beat a real band, but that's life today.
And those harmonies...first time around he sings harmony slightly off time, which I LOVE , Bruce did that often. Then the second time he sings it on time, it's really subtle stuff, which I appreciate. Others may not notice.
Then towards the end he's singing a low volume harmony you can barely hear, I'm sure there's an artistic reason for it... Possibly what the lyric is sayin
And I guess, the lyric is... Ok 👌 lollll

Hi Robert, Very nice. You are building a very good catalogue of songs. I hope you see the success you deserve.

Thanks, folks. John, I've got a fairly decent selection of songs I'm proud of.
