This one is specifically written for sync. This version has an explicit tag line, and we have a version without the explicit tag line as well for cleaner networks. Vocals are by Matt Dame. https://soundcloud.com/marilyn-oakley/bond-of-brotherhood-explicitThis is the clean version, for anyone who may be offended by the explicit tag line https://soundcloud.com/marilyn-oakley/bond-of-brotherhoodBOND OF BROTHERHOOD [explicit] Spoken: The blood of the tribe is thicker than the water of the womb In the moment, right or wrong Brother, I got your back We will rise and we will fall Ride hard, live fast Spoken: Respect is earned, loyalty returned CHORUS Bond of Brotherhood It’s a code, it’s a creed It ain’t about the blood but those willing to bleed Brothers not of kin but brothers in the wind Life or death, it’s understood the Bond of Brotherhood Post-Chorus No one can separate us the Bond of Brotherhood Don’t matter who hate us the Bond of Brotherhood And in your darkest hour when the demons come Call on me brother I’m your bullet, you’re my gun Spoken: Never mistake my kindness for weakness CHORUS Post-Chorus Bridge No lead, no shell No devil in hell will break us Stay low, go fast Kill first, die last CHORUS Final Tag Betray my trust, I’ll be your fucking reaper (Clean tag - Betray my trust, I'll be your reaper) © Marilyn Oakley/Carlene McDearis Wentworth -----------

Yeah', the F word seemed a little forced and gratuitous lol I'll give you credit for intent... However, blood is always thicker than water and soldiers don't play with guns...

Yeah', the F word seemed a little forced and gratuitous lol I'll give you credit for intent... However, blood is always thicker than water and soldiers don't play with guns... There are songs out there that have more cuss words than just my little ol' one LOL. I watch a lot of Netflix movies and have heard a few. lol I wanted to leave this open to brotherhoods not just soldiers but also outlaw biker gangs. Before I wrote this one, I did research as far as marines, soldiers, outlaw bikers, etc. in Brotherhoods Thus the tag line "Betray my trust, I’ll be your fucking reaper" is more biker related perhaps. Personally I don't feel it's forced, as it is meant to sound I mean business. Cause betrayal is a bitch when it comes to certain situations. And as for the blood, yeah, it may be thicker, but I can across this saying "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" - meaning that bonds forged through adversity (namely, war) are stronger than familial bonds. So I went with that just changed covenant to tribe. Biker clubs refer to themselves as tribes too. And it's all about loyalty moreover blood. Thanks for the listen and comments. ----------------------- IDK if you've ever heard the song by Trey Lewis, Dicked In Dallas, but I think that one's in poor taste, even tho it got millions of listens, and got pretty popular.

Well... now I'm really confused lol I'll bow out with this; I sincerely hope you don't think outlaw biker gangs and the USMC can possibly have anything at all in common

I didn't want to sandwich this in just to one type of brotherhood. Then it would be very limited to where it could get pitched. It's a song about brotherhood, it's not about marines and it's not about outlaw bikers. It's a theme song ... to fit brotherhoods of all kinds. Hope that helps. lol ps... and maybe one day someone could write a movie/show about modern day cowboys or western type outlaws, I wanted a theme song that could possible even describe this type of brotherhood.

I agree with Tony when it comes to the military. It would be an awkward fit in most movies of that kind because of the snarling tone. However, as I was listening, I was thinking along the lines of what I then read in your reply to Tony. This is more suited to a biker gang kind of movie, and I get what you are saying about writing something that fits with a mood or attitude, rather than anything more specific, broadening the possibilities for sync. It's not the kind of thing I would listen to just as a song, but that's not the point, and I can absolutely hear it as part of a movie soundtrack. Good luck with it.

Some ppl associate the song w/ Marines and some w/ outlaw bikers.

Hello Marilyn--
You bare right in general about BROTHERHOOD--But when the completed song has a TO)NE (angry, listful, happy or some other) THE SONG IS THEN PUT IN A BRACKET and labeled! The music and vocal often do that BRACKETTING!
In Scouting, I was in the ORDER OF THE ARROW, and a level of accomplishment was Called BROTHERHOOD!
There are many meanings associated with BROTHERHOOD--songs to make money, are pitched with a specific TONE in mind!
Write on!

Powerful song..............perhaps a bit overpowering. I get the bond of a band of brothers, but I think there is a difference between the bonds that Marines make in the fields, and those of biker gangs in the streets. Maybe delve into what it is that creates those bonds. ...........Very thought provoking. Good stuff!!! -Tom

It's catchy and well produced. I can hear this in a biker movie Maybe it's just me but I found the vocals a bit loud - and the guitars could come up a bit when he's not singing. I would leave out the F-bomb - not that I'm a prude, but usually foul language is in the movie's dialog rather than its songs IMO. Or maybe "I'll be your freakin' reaper" Enjoyed the listen - good luck placing it. Paul
