Hi Guys, Welcome! Sounds like your selling candy You might want to try posting your lyrics on the lyric board and see what kind of responses you get. And maybe let people know who you are and what your about a little bit more. There are thousands of lyricist here dying to read it. If I told you I'm selling some chords would you buy them for your songs without hearing them. Peace

hmmmmmmm
You do realize, that by *selling* your lyrics, you are handing copyrights over to the person who bought them.....? even though you are the original creator...they are buying something, and they now own it, so should the song ever become a hit...you're forfeiting any possible royalties.....
not the wisest course of action....
Like the above poster said..post them in the lyrics section, see if they're any good, then maybe find someone to collaborate with, for music, then you own 50% of the song, and if that's any good, find a publisher, and get it published...
I wouldn't *sell* a song, Ever.

Hi there.
Sounds like you're lacking some music business experience....which is by no means a negative, just an observation.
There are two JPF chapters in our neigbourhood. One runs out of The Urban Coyote in Markham, and one runs out of the Pic a Deli in Oakville.
You should also join the Songwriters Association of Canada. It runs open mics all around Toronto.
Both provide opportunities to network with people who love to write and play, and with industry types.
You'll be learning and growing with "the industry", and you'll meet people who can help you get better, find contacts etc.
Good luck
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

"The market for 'lyrics only' is nonexistent." - Jimmy Webb
I wouldn't deign to gainsay him.
If your words are all that, get them 'out there' somehow... internet song board or hang around local bands or theatre... one or more composers will offer to collaborate... no money up front, of course!
And if anything comes from the collaboration, i.e., a song gets released on a commerically successful CD, or used in a movie or on TV...
Then, and ONLY then, will you see payment from your efforts.
