Hi Tina, Very simple & very effective like hit songs are! Well crafted and good arrangement. Hopefully it can break through if your shopping. I feel as it may not be quite enough - so close though to getting a cut. Trying to get someone elses song off a CD and your on there takes even more than pointing a gun in someones face But one thing is for sure! If this was done by an established artist it's a go for sure. It has the quality. People would like it given the chance. I mean folks think Brad Pasiley is a genuis I think he's poser. He writes this and it's a hit. You right it it's an apology, sorry no thanks. Artists get away with murder and songwriters get murdered I give you credit for working hard & doing what your doing, Don't mean to sound hard or negative i just feel & relate to your frustations.. even if you don't feel them yet Good Luck peace Sub [This message has been edited by substudio (edited 08-04-2006).]

Hello Substudio Thankyou for your comments and for stopping in.....I welcome the frustrations as well as everything else that comes along with songwriting. It's all part of feeling alive and being true to what I am doing....the opposite of frustration is exhileration...and it's what I feel EACH and every time I complete a song that i know I believed in when I put the very first word down on paper. That's how "I" measure my level of success in this business. Having the honor of it being cut by an artist....well that's just icing on the cake!! Things will be what they were meant to be reguardless of one's tenaciousness. Take Care...and again...thankyou so much for your comments!!They are very much appreciated! Tina

Hi Terri! ...Yeah, I've got this posted on a few other sites as well as this one...and before my co-writer and I re-wrote it, I do believe he had the old version posted on his site on SongRamp...so maybe you've heard or seen it there also.....Thankyou for listening! Tina

Best of luck to you guys. Sounds real nice. I love that fiddle. ------------------ "Experience teaches us that silence terrifies people the most."~~Bob Dylan www.giddygirlmusicpublishing.com
"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

I must say i am Impressed. I can think of a few right off the top that could do a good Job on that song. First one that came to my mind was George Straight. And Darryl Worley. i just gave Darryl a copy of one of my songs recently. i wish you the best. Della,

Germain & Tina! I´m chasing your threads now! Seems like you know perfectly well how to write a hit caliber song. I cross my fingers you end up signing with a good publisher/record company!! BTW, I´m amazed so few people reply on your postings. Must be because, the real executives already have you under the magnifying glass!!

Dear Germain & Tina! I just read through this thread again and realized I had expressed myself poorly, in my posting above! I have nothing but good to say about your craft and I sincerely want you to know about it! On top of that I want as many others as possible to find your music and maybe post away! Tell me, how can I contribute to make yer music fly!?!

I really love the chorus, great melody. The melody in the verses doesn't seem to come up to that same level. Seems to need more words or something. But, "Killer Chorus".

I like this alot. Very commercial sounding. I don't care for the two lines:
LET ME DRY YOUR TEARS AND CALM ALL YOUR FEARS
Kinda old hat stuff there. Chorus is excellent! =Bob=

Germain & Tina! There´s no question about it. If this fails, everything fails! Dunno if that´s good or bad but, it doesn´t really get any better than this, does it!?!

Hey Tina / Germain
We all know that Dave could sing the product label from a soup can and make us love it lol ... so my comments aren't directed at the fact that Dave was provided with killer lyrics and a dynamic song structure (something I've come to expect from you two).....
The thing that impressed me most , and what makes this a high potential song , is the unique way in which the theme is presented . The yearning best friend wanting an "in" angle , and disguising his interest through consoling her . That "we'll show him" idea as a means of getting close and letting her know .. it's just awesome !
Women buy cd's , and could relate to an available "loving hero" idea when wronged .
One of my favorites of yours .
Don .

WOW! I have not been in here in so long and was VERY surprised at the additional comments. To those of you who commented and I did not reply...I am SO sorry! I've been busy packing for my big move to Nashville!!!! Yay!!!....On October 21st. I'm going to join the ranks of "damn yankee"...LOL....I figure the only way to prove how serious I am about my songwriting is to move where it's all at. Soooo to those already there, maybe we can meet up and you can show the "new kid on the block" around town! Take Care and thankyou so much again!!!!! I appreciate every single comment and opinion!!
