Got this one yesterday morning, but had to go bush to tend a freid's farm so just got to it today. Longest I have carried anything in my head for a time. Thanks for the kicker Tricia. I'm sure you know where it came from. Is country. At driving speed. Graham Ode To A Truckies Woman © Copyright APRA Graham Henderson 2004 I’ve been a truckie for far to long. It’s the only life I know. I’d like to spend time with the wife. But there’s that one more load to go. I keep on saying I’ll retire. And live a life of ease. But, I’ve got a truck to pay for. Before I can do what I please. The missus gets on my case. About my always going somewhere. She says we need time together. While we’ve still got something to share. She says as long as I’m running around. She’ll be running on memory. Of what it’s like to have a man a round. To keep her company. I say. Chorus You married a truckie Honey. They’ve got two loves you’ll find. The missus and the rig they run. And most aren’t the cuddly kind. They love passionately. But it depends on what’s on their mind. If you get your tyres kicked. Or a pat on the behind. Instrumental So all you girls out there. Who have a truckie in their sights. Before you do the leap be sure you know. There will be lonely nights. And when your man is home. That can even suck. ‘Cause. He’s either bone weary. Or polishing his truck. Yeah. Chorus Changed If you marry a truckie Honey. They’ve got two loves you’ll find. The missus and the rig they run. And most aren’t the cuddly kind. They love passionately. But it depends on what’s on their mind. If you get your tyres kicked. Or a pat on the behind. ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/grahamhendersonmusic.htm

"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Graham, I love a good trucker song. Thanks for the info on recording. I can use my soundcard record my singing and guitar without another program. I did find you on the other site you mentioned. I can only play the guitar and mandolin one at a time (duh) to record with.Do you know of software that will let me add other band instruments? If I can get a cd recorded I can get airtime on one of my songs. Thanks for all your help. Hugs,Willie

LOL. I know you have read and heard some of my not so prety stuf Tricia, and still ya gotta ask. You behave? Yeah right. Don't change on my account Tricia. Life would not be the same. No sweat Willie. Glad I could help. You can muli track on your sound card. I the mixer tell it to record in mixed mode and mute the lines you are not wanting to record. Then open the tracks you want to lay more on in whatever playback facility your puter has, be it the soundcard one, mp3 programs like Music Match or winamp, and hit record, then play on what ever it is, and away you go. Any dead air time back and front of the result, you can delet in Windows pecorder. Also add or lower both volume and reverd in ther too. If multi track recording this way, I suggest you set the bass and treble to mid way in the recoring window while ading tracks, only including to suit your taste on the last record take. And if that CD pans out, I would look at it for incusion on my little radio gig too of course. I love being able to skite I helped in some way to get something making a noise and out there. Thanks but no thanks Sweet. That don't shake my tree at all. I want it for radio, not my stag show Cobber. But was sweet of you to offer. if the tune and the kick ya tyres don't carry this, I'll get a bucket and wash the truck 'til I stop sulking. Not my bag Sweet. If I made the noise, I made it. While I hear, and like a lot of loops, and even some of myn noise collabs use them on our songs, I figure if I put my name on it, it has to be something I did in fact make. Even if I use a puter to help out on that bit. I still have to know what to feed the puter, and what to bend into shape to make it enough of me to wear my name. I have noised this one Sweet and it is up on the Soundclick site, and I don't thik it is a whitewash at all. I like to think Ray Charles would even like it as I went ye haw blues on it. I also have noised Dawg's Hayride To Heaven, and when Soundclick starts working a bit better I will put that on me and friends on Soundclick too. One lyric written, Two backings done, and ditto songs in a morning. Heck Sweet. I don't need n0o loops. Am going loopy enough all on my oiwn.
