I know there are console style digtitals for home use, that have speakers. But are there pro console digital pianos for stage that anyone has used, or heard about?
Also, if not, what would be the suggestions to have a LIGHT console cabinet surround my normal digital stage piano? Or a SMALL and LIGHT baby grand style to house a normal digital stage piano?
I would like to add a more professional look to my fronting a band. *without a lot of weight! I tune pianos, and know I can gut any console or grand to have even the plate taken out, (for weight reasons). I could fit my keys in the keybed area, so that may be an option, if I can find a light enough piano (cheap to begin with).
But,,,any word on made for stage consoles or mini grands? Yamaha had one, CP90 or something. I'm doing some searches of course, and will go to the usual music stores. Just wanted to see if anyone has any personal knowledge of what works best for stage.
Thanks, John

http://www.kawaius.com/main_links/digital/EMI/ep2.htmlFound this Kawai with L&R outputs, and has a light cabinet which could also allow us to attached the bands logo on a lightweight board, giving this a solid looking back, (which faces the people). Sounds taken from their nine foot grand, which is an exceptional sound.

John, it was the Yamaha CP70.... I saw a small permanant stage set up with two of these pianos not so long ago. They'd ripped the guts out of them, and they become very light. Then, the keybaord players of the evening simply insert their own keyboard into the gap. They do have that really cool pro retro look to them. Maybe you could pick a dead one up cheap and use the shell ? cheers, niteshift

YES!!! That's it!
I first saw one of them at a club when I met my wife-to-be, Cindy. The band was "Providence". Gave the band a more professional look than others with the usual keyboards at that time.
Good idea, to use that cabinet! Especially since you have seen that done, (fits).
I will search.
Thanks! John
