Hey there, here's a new one for sounddesigners, who wants to explore new possibilities.

This is a Spanish invention from the university in Barcelona. You basicly install a piece of (open source) software, build a table and encode some bricks to move around on the table. Then sound is produced by moving the bricks around the table. Everyone can 'play' this synth, without any qualifications, and you can collaborate by moving several bricks around the table at once.

The Icelandic pop artist Björk brought one on tour, having one of her musicians play it, and now wants to do it herself.

Interesting stuff, huh? It has recived a bunch of prizes already, and the inventors has set up a company to move the Reactable into production for the market.

There's some demos on Utube http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=reactable&search_type=&aq=f

Happy New Year to y'all
