Waal...I'm proud t'say Mz Jinxy is rapidly-weaning herself off her (already-Good) Poetry and I'm (Perhaps-Evil-ly) turning her into a Good Songwriter. She's a "Natural"..AND..has a pretty GOOD-&-Sarcastic Sense-of-Humor, too... (A Necessity IF you REALLY Wanna Be a Songwriter, JMO!);-)> Holler-Back if ya like this..or hate it...we're Pros...we can take it!} Big Thanks!

Well, Stan, I knew these days well. KNEW....not any more, thank goodness. Something about retirement brings on a magical cure (not perfect....but a whole lot better). This reminds me of my "Sometimes Life Just Sucks" (2003....Forum 2), but with a different approach. So you know I understand what you are talkin' about. Anyway...only 2 little places where I tripped up on this, and I have no business even mentioning them with my years and years away, but......."On my way" home seemed bumpy...I might do travelin' home or headin' on home...or something a bit more "colorful". And "that rain"...perhaps just "the rain", but I could be readin' it wrong. Perhaps it was meant right for the music and "that train", but because of the last "t" in "that"....THAT RAIN sounds just like THAT TRAIN...unless, of course the music takes care of it all. Anyway....I know only too well that Sometimes Life Just Sucks (lol) and I agree with this 100%.

Whee...Oh What a DAY...(HI Again, Mz Sunny!) We've just blown ALL DAY tryin' to get Back Hatch fixed on the Toyota Van (Since some Thieving Drug-Crazed KID..I'spect..crowbarred the Opening Handle.)
Also pried a Side Window off the mount (& COULDA got in..to steal my Dead Chainsaw..& Toolbox..but never DID..after all the Damage-Done.) Estimates to fix the hatch: $400-&-Up. Window hinge comes WITH Window-attached, for another $175+ Labor. ($40-an-hour's the cheapest so-far.)
So..for Under $5...I've Dow-Siliconed window BACK on the Mounting...and for (My Guess) $50-or-Less,I'll have a friend's Muffler Shop cut the cussed Assembly with a torch/add-a-hasp & $1 Chinese Flea Market Lock...and I'm back in the Clock Moving Biz in time to make $165 tomorrow Noonish.
La Femme's hollering "Supper"...Rats...now I'm Interrupted Again!
Backatcha soon as I chow down...Big Hugs, Mr Cheapo Hisself, Stan

G'Mornin' Mz J!
I read somewhere that the Inventor of the QWERTY Keyboard DELIBERATELY put certain letters in certain positions to SLOW DOWN a Typist...'cuz the mechanical action of manual typewriters wasn't well-enough developed to handle "Speed Typing".
I gotta ALWAYS be on-guard not to sign off "Satan Good" 'cuz it's frankly all-too-EASY to! (Just like it is to sign "Stan God" as-well!) ;-)> Damned if I Do...fer-sure!
"Jim" as a nice athletic Ring to it... Don't sweat it...I been called far-worse/KNOW that was a typo...just havin' fun teasin' ya!
Best Wishes & Big Hugs Again, Stan

One of my son's and my favorite literary characters goes by the name "Jim". He also has a great sense of humor like yourself. Of course... he's a demon in the form of a Newfoundland dog. I read a lot of seroius stuff but gotta toss in the occassional "fun" book to get a few laughs. Have a great day!

Hi TS....that's Tampa Stan. While you were off getting your car fixed for a VERY good price, I was busy getting a year older (whew!....Made it for another one!). The first time I got to fight my grandson for the frosting on the cake. He's now 3. Anyway, I'm glad I could be of some help and I will try to stop in now and again. Still trying to put this place together and trying to figure out what the heck they plant potted plants in around here. Whatever it is it won't absorb water. It just stays dry and the water runs right through. I have to re-pot everything I buy if I want it to take water....sigh. Do they prefer beer?

HiAgain, Mz Sunny!
I JUST got off an Aluminum Ladder...cuttin' down the near-Last of my Half-Dead VERY Big Sea Grape Tree..(Last of the MANY WinterKills...heh!). A Huge BOLT Of Ligntning sorty persuaded me it was Time To Go Into the House..heh!
We're now having a BIG Downpour...WITH what sounds like Hailstones...(Small, at least!) & more Thunder, so I'm glad to he inside at the moment!
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY" for Starters...(& I hope ya got MOST of that Frosting, Too!) (Lucky those 3-yr-olds are slow starters, right?) ;-)> I hit the Big 6-5 this November, & La Femme's already talkin' RETIREMENT as-if I could somewhow afford it. we'll see..it ain't November YET..and 64's so Hassle-Filled I kinda dread hittin' Elderly-Dom TOO damn soon!
Hey, in Florida we put our Potted Plants in the GROUND...they then get HUGE...(You Watch what a Rubber Tree DOES, given it's own little Sunny-Spot...PRESTO..in 10 years it's 25 feet TALL!)
Sounds like your Potting Mix has too-much Sand in it...it'll then run out the bottom like a Bandit. Add about 20-25% Sphagnum Moss (The sorta composted-kind) or simply Black Cow Manure and away-ya go with it all mixed-in. I've found adding in a few Earthworms..(& not drowing the poor darlings) will give ya Free Fertilizing IF ya leave a few Table Scraps on-top, occasionally. (Veggies, we're talkin') (They even love soggy corrugated Cardboard..!)
Misting Indoor Plants duplicates the Morning's Dew...which also keeps 'em from overly-drying-out. (When all else Fails...try growing Cactus!) (We've got some Interesting Ones down here that like to climb trees...flower-nicely..& just about Nothing Can Kill 'Em!)
Pay us a visit & we assure ya, you'll leave with an Armload of Plant Starts. (I've acquired LOTS during my Many House Calls...I always carry some seed pods along...& we trade-away!)
Oh..ya CAN just set your pot in a Coaster...& add-water 'til the coaster's filled-up. Some Reed-Like plants NEED soaking-wet toots to survive. But you'll drown many a plant IF ya alway got a LOT of water in the coaster--,most roots gotta dry-out between waterings a bit...or they'll rot.
WISH I knew it all...BUT I just re=potted what WAS a Nice Anturium..and its roots were just TOO dern Well-Watered. Hopefully the rather Sandy Soil I poped it into WILL revive it..I like Anthruiums, but they don't like me..heh!
Best Wishes & Happy Birthday, Again, & Happy Pkanting, Too! Big Birthday Hugs, Stan

G'Mornin' & Thanks for Your Kind Visit, Bro!
I had this Producer Chum who was always cussin' "Them DEMONS" whenever his truck got a flat..or somethin' like that.
I tend to agree with him...there's 11 Known-&-Suspected Dimensions..& LOTS of places for them Critters to Hide In..heh!
Luckily, Laughter makes 'em Go Away...from what I've experienced.
Thanks Again for Your Kind Visit & Words, Amigo! Best Wishes & Happy Monday..Big Guy-Hugs Backatcha, Stan

I absolutely love this song!! Awesome verses with hilarious details that we can all relate to. The structure and rhyme scheme of this piece are rock solid and it's short enough that it doesn't outlive it's welcome. Funniest song I've seen on this site yet and would love to hear it with music. A comedic masterpiece.

HiDee Bro BobbyW!
"Masterpiece"? Wow..is that ever gonna explode me & my Co-Writer's head this evening!
Especially Mz J's...since she did V2 & 3...& I let her do MOST of the "Heavy-Liftin'" on this'n'! (I did mess wit the Last Lines of those..but She's MOST of the Brains behind this baby/I am Real Proud of Her..(She USED to be a POET, ya know!) ;-)>
My favorite line about the diffo between Poets & Songwriters is "Songwriters drive Better Cars"...(Tho I've Yet to Prove It..heh!)
I'd LOVE to hear it to Music TOO...so...If'n you got Guitar Skills...let us KNOW...we're Hunting Up such Talented Folks..BIGTIME! Many Thanks for Your Kind Words & Visit, Amigo..& I just KNOW Mz J is beaming Ear-to-Ear tonight!
Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug Backatcha Stan (Also wearing a rather Large Smile too!)

Thank you for such wonderful praise on our song. Don't let Stan fool you. He did an equal share if not more work helping me along. The idea was his as well but I had no trouble writing basic verses for this. I have this type of luck on a daily basis. I've locked myself out of my car so many times my hubby actually disabled the locks once! I've been locked out of my house, gotten lost too many times to count(even on the way home once), flipped my jeep upsidedown in a cornfield(will never live that down) and even been stuck in a phonebooth. I enjoyed writing with Stan and love what we came up with. I hope we can find someone to put it to music too.

Thanks for the praise Stan. You are a great person to write with. I certainly couldn't have written it without you. I have someone who may be interested in putting this to some music. He's highly talented and has a cd coming out soon. He plays locally and has one song even getting some airtime on radio. I've been to his house and seen him work. It's amazing. You can check out his stuff on myspace. His name is Damous Moss. If you want, I'll pass it along and see if he's interested. The only problem is he's pretty busy. He's young, talented, can write, sing and play. He's also a really nice guy. Well we hoped for some positive comments and at least one person has great taste. LOL.

I've allus said "2 Heads are Better Than One", and Yours is Lots-Prettier..& I think Lots-Smarter, too!
I've listened to Damous's Song-Video..Nicely-Done (Though he's not as good a writer as You Are, JMO already)...and obviously We could be Good For Him, & Vice-Versa.
It'll be interesting to see whether he wants Half..or'll do a 3-way-split. The Latter'd be Fairer...the Former..waal..you Watch!
His "Family Rhythm Section" had a Good Groove a-goin'..but there's either a Loose Key on that Synth..or "Uncle" was toyin' with that ONE Note...& didn't JMO help that performance too-much in the early-moments. Damous sure CAN Sing...even over Distractions..& Guitar sounded Good. Hope he likes Our Wares/BIG Thanks for Your Legwork, M'LadyChum!
More Best Wishes, & Big "Good Luck" Hugs, Stan

Hello! I'm glad you had a chance to check out Damous. I will send him the lyrics and see what he thinks. He definitely can sing. He gave me a copy of a cd with 3 of his songs on it. I play it a work sometime and have gotten quite a few comments on it. Again thanks for all of the praise on my writing. It just encourages me to keep trying to branch out a bit from the poetry. Hope you have a great day!

Hey this JTS co write is a beauty. Lots of little pictures from the world of pitfalls and whatever can go wrong. I imagine a biggest challenge was not so much what to use as it was what to discard My favourite is the soly, builds nicely through rain to sprain. Least favourite's probably the job loss. Too conventional. I say have the building condemned
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Hey Stan! I still haven't heard back yet from Damous. He may still get in touch but I had another idea too. Maybe we could find someone who can play the fiddle. I've been listen to one of my favorite bands Gaelic Storm lately and their humorous songs are upbeat and fun with lots of fiddling. Just thought it might work here.Take care!

Hi Again, Mz J!
I allus HOPE my Co-writers WILL try for Cuts at Their End. I'll pitch it soon to a Pub'r in Branson I'm chums-with...who's MOSTLY looking for material for his Daughter to sing.
She luckily sings Jazz, Country, etc...with equal facility.
Hear her at ilike.com singing Andy K & My "It's OK to Cry"... (She's since re-recorded it SANS fiddles..etc...in a New Country format, musically..for her Next CD.) Jami Asselin is her name...& she sings/writes/performs REALLY Good!
Best Wishes/Good Luck at Your End too, Big Hugs, Stan

Hello again. That sounds good! Keep me informed as to what you come up with. I am still getting chuckles and positive comments from people who check out my book at work. They all seem to like it and say they look forward to hearing it. Take care, Jinx

I have to say that I think these lyrics are great well done both of you. Would anyone mind if I tryed to put some music to them ? It might not sound full on country (as I'm Welsh) but I could give it a go and see what turns up.

G'Mornin' Andy-Mork!
As I've got a good li'l Co-Writer on this one, I'll await to see what she agrees-upon...while telling ya it's OK with me & I Thank Ya In Advance. And I think a bit of "The Isles" in it will help it along, too!
She MAY have already fed these words to someone she's had in-mind...so..Stay Tuned..(& feel free to Post Results at JPF's MP3 Forum for comments.) She gets "Final Approval" on whatever's done...so give it your best shot, Amigo! (& Remember, I have a LOT of other lyrics here that await a Musical Mastering!)
Many Thanks & Best Wishes/Big Guy-Hug, Stan

Morning Stan! I'm headed off to bed (finally)but wanted to write a quick reply here. Mork/Andy has some amazing tracks.I invited him from another site and asked him to check out our lyrics. Since we haven't had any results yet from anyone I'm fine with seeing what he can do with this as long as you are. I'm currently trying to write some lyrics for a couple of his tracks. Have a great day!

Thanks Andy for checking them out. I'm fine with seeing what you can come up with.If we like we'll use it. I figure it's like an audition. Rather than promising we will give this job to someone I think several choices may give us a better choice as to what the sound will finally be. Feel free to give it a go! Have a grat day! Hi Again, Bro Mork-Andy!
Apologies in-Advance for this Limbo-Situation. I usually don't "Hedge My Bets"..preferring to just let WHOEVER wants to do the Demo DO IT...'cuz most are already "KNOWN Entities"... DID want Mz J to join in the decision-making process...(It's OUR first Co-..too.)
So..let us hear whatcha got...& we'll prolly keep ya pretty-busy Down The Pike, assuming ya like what ya read here.
Best Wishes & another Big Guy-Hug, Stan

Hi Guy's I've posted a version of the song: http://www.jpfolks.com/forum/ubbthr...ID=h3u53n0tmv2t70cevt8upcseg1#Post840499I'm no singer, as you will hear but I just thought I'd throw a take down for fun. I also forgot the last bridge but it's just a guide. Rgds Andy
