I just want to sing my song
Don’t need all the fame
that might come with it
I just need my words to be heard
don’t have to top the charts
with a stellar hit

I love to pick up myguitar
and let my thoughts all travel far
to places I’ve never been
whenever the urge comes
to purge life’s woes with a strum
I’ll pick it up again.

And if I sing about you
and your sweet love so true
I simply want you to know
by the talents my soul shows
how much I love you so…..

Some people preach or teach
others beg and beseech
in political ways
some say nothing but they
let their actions convey
all that they want to say……

I was blessed with a gift
and though I fumble with riffs
I never ponder my what Ifs
I just create a new tune
and soon I let my voice croon
I find such peace in this.

If my voice should be heard
in some day yet to come
all across the world
it beats suffering the blues
cause I’ve denied my muse
in some fetal position curled


That’s why I love to sing my songs
without the endless worries
of pleasing the throngs
and if the folks that hear it
chose to hum along
my joys of writing music
will be prolonged.

So turn a soft ear to my music
and just let it flow through you
and if you need to critique it
do what you have to do,
but understand my muse
makes huge demands I must pursue
and I’ll be singing till I’m 82
then I’ll retire and just
hum the Blues….

I'll second that, truly describes why a lot of writers, stick at it.
Wonderfully written throughout but my favourite part is the ending, I'll be singing till I'm 82 then I'll retire and just hum the blues, that's classic.
