I dont know, to me having my music xrayed seems a bit over the top. I dont mind critiques, but xraying... I just dont know.

But if xrays will reveal the problem with my music, maybe i should be on board.

I did bring one of my songs into see a specialist. He listened to it with his stethoscope, and said there was nothing abnormal sounding. He gave me a prescription and said to
give the music one pill three times a day to see if the problem cleared up.

I think we need free healthcare, composers cant afford the expense, they dont make anything to begin with!

I signed-up just to check them out Everett. Seems a lot like Broadjam opportunities. What I didn't like was a $15 fee to submit to opportunities. But further checking, there's a $5 Music X-Ray handling fee. Which is then $20 for submitting to one opportunity. After checking out pay methods, I found you could only use PayPal for transitions over $20. So I took that as they want to pull you in for at least two submissions. Most of the submissions advertise big payouts $3K - 10K plus... - I doubt that. Music X-Ray rubs me the wrong way. I told them to remove me from their database, as I was only seeking information.

Thanks for your comments. I can across a site where people that had joined MusicXray were not too happy with them. The cost they were saying to pitch a song was anywhere between ten to thirty five dollars. Is there no honest companies out there one could use that is affordable. Anyone ever use Broadjam? They seem to have a lot of call for music, not sure what their costs are or what success rate they have in placements.

You'll pay a fee to MusicXray, and a fee direct to the music producer, industry professional. in my view, that's robbery.

Imagine applying for a job and the employer charges you just to interview. I imagine one could make a good living just charging people to interview them.

That's the crime this outfit is doing to songwriters. They say they are doing good for songwriters, but for every song that might get published, thousands get ripped off.

i think the $4 fee to MusicXray is just, that's like an agent's fee, but paying the publisher $10 or so just to listen to your song? That's robbery. What in essence is happening is that songwriters are now a profit center for publishers.

That's frickin' insane and just wrong. There ought to be a law. Broadjam doesn't charge and pay to the publishers, jsut charges you for their service, as agent. That's as it shoud be, and it's similar to Taxi ( in fact, Broadjam used to be part of Taxi ). But, the downside to Broadjam is that there are far fewer producers/publishers on that platform than there are on MusicXray. Makes sense, MIPs ( music industry pros ) make money on MXR, but not on broadjam. There just is no integrity in this business. If I were a record company, or a publisher, I would be morally opposed to charging songwriters just to audition their music. I would see it as part of doing business just as employers have HR departments.

Songwriters are getting ripped off and something ought to be done about it.

Dream peddlers is all they are. They know there are millions of songwriters hoping to catch the gold ring and they offer a chance for a fee, knowing 99% don't stand a chance in hell of making it, but neither do people who buy lotto tickets have one chance in a million of winning. Dreaming is free but trying to buy that dream will cost you.
