Hey All,

We were talking on the shout box about tropical rain and how cleansing it is. Also, I am now in a position to produce music again, so have being going through the previous catalogue. The song is now 10 yrs old, but seems to get a steady stream.

This one is about rain and being far from home ......

Love Rains Down

I’ve walked this world, but not alone
I been to London, carried you along
and the rains in Africa, beat out our song
Rain

I’ve walked the heat of the desert sand
I’d cross an ocean to reach that land
And feel your love rainin down on me
Rain

Chorus

Callin me….
Home
No matter where I go
No matter how far
You’re leadin me home
With the beatin of your heart
Rainnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Aw your love rain down
Let it rain

V2

Crowded street, in East LA
Ah missing you , just one more day
And the city sweat makes me pray for rain
Rain

Across the miles, by land or sea
Close my eyes, your there with me
You burn in me, like the Delta heat
Rain

Chorus

Callin me….
Home
No matter where I go
No matter how far
You lead me home
with every beat of your heart
Rainnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Aw your love rains down
Let it rain

Instrumental

Ohhhh
(Let it rain let it rain let it rain)

Let it rain let it rain let it rain
Let it rain let it rain let it rain

No matter where I go
no matter how far
Your love rain down
hear the beatin of your heart
Rainnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Let it rain let it rain let it rain
Aw let it rain

I've been inspired by a few storms myself, nice one smile

Ab-soul-lutely stunning intro, and then the vocals of your spot on lyrics kick in and tell a story we can all relate to. It is almost spiritual and deeply moving and so well performed and produced. You have got to work the night-shift more often. You made my night, cause I have been drenched in sorrowful rains lately but this song was a warm towel. ~~Matt

Oh, Letha...how I've missed that voice! Thanks for bringing this around again Nite. It still holds up.

Look who was playing Bass!

Hey Ricki,

Yeah, nothing like a Letha vocal. smile Thanks for saying it "still holds up". In revisiting old works, one can always say "I could have done it better" but in listening years later, I'm happy how it came out. smile

Hey Dave, yes, Mr Mike did the bass on this one and did a brilliant job of it. And Mr K's guitar is just great how he emulates the "ding dong" of an airport or transit station.

It's been a number of years since I've produced, so hope to get back in the saddle again soon. grin

Mr Matt.

On a personal note, once again thank you for your kind comments. Your "warm towel" analogy means a great deal to me. smile

I enjoyed this very much. It grew on me more and more as it went on, and I enjoyed it even more the second time. Great song and great vocal performance. She really lets rip in that last chorus! Reminded me a bit of Toni Childs in places.

Nite,

So well strung together, and a brilliant vocal. The percussion on this really resounds and carries the tune—admire the depth you got on the chorus. For me, the symbols are a touch to loud when they strike—perhaps there’s a chance to tone them down a bit? Regardless, that’s a small nit. This must have been a bear to pull together . . . you did it nicely. The break to the sax also very smooth. Cool stuff!

Regards,

Deej

Hey Deej,

Thanks for your comments mate !

Yep, Letha is a brilliant vocalist. A pleasure to work with.

Sorry about the symbol crashes frown and yes, I tend to over accentuate the high EQ on overhead mic drums. smile And yeah, it took some time to get the percussion on point.

We ran 32 tracks with outboards, to layer the vocals especially,. But although it was tough putting together, it was both a challenge and a feel good thing to do.

Andrew Oh ( who played the Beijing Olympics ) was meant to play sax on this one, but unfortunately our schedules crossed, so we had to make do with digital sax for the bridge.

Thank you for your "smooth" comment. That's the way I would like it to be heard. smile

cheers, niteshift
