For you nature lovers. Hmm I think it's missing a verse.

Music and vocals/ Ian Jenkins Words/ Carroll Kiphen

No masterpiece like this
Verse
There’s a highway way out west
that crawls along the coast
like a serpent thru mountains
among the forest’s ghosts.
Giants spread their brawny arms
Obscure the clouds from view.
Like gods from the native lore
they say a prayer for you.
Chorus
The aurora borealis
Is dancing in the sky.
The gods of nature speak to you
Appear before your eyes.
So brilliant so beautiful
It takes your breath away
No masterpiece like this exists
that man has ever made.
Verse
These mountains so majestic
Stand tall among the clouds.
I feel as if I’m privileged
that I have been allowed
To live and breathe this beauty
To see this with my eyes.
I only hope that heaven
is like this when I die.
Chorus
The aurora borealis
is dancing in the sky.
The gods of nature speak to you
Appear before your eyes.
So brilliant so beautiful
It takes your breath away
No masterpiece like this exists
that man has ever made.

Carrol and Ian:

Stunning song. To me, the lyric is equal to the music and that is rare. Great melody, production and vocal... but those are some of the most meaningful words to a song I've ever heard.

Best wishes for success and thanks for sharing.

It's a few years old no plans for it. It'd make a great soundtrack song for a movie or national geo. Film
Some of my best work brought to life by Ian.

Kiph:

I sense that you have experienced so much disappointment in your creative activities (haven't we all!) that you have lost the energy or desire to see it "live on" by not attempting to promote it. If you (and you collection of co-writers) do not make that move (self promotion)... nobody will do it for you.

The quality of your songs with Ian and Chris (and possibly others) is worth the struggle it will require. Not all doors are closed... and I believe John Lawrence Schick can provide you with a pathway... provided you (with permission of your co-writers) are willing to explore. Film scores and similar activities are always needing songs and music for scenes and scripts.

I believe you possess lyrical power that few here can muster. As always, my best wishes to you for success.

Who is John? What does he do? Appreciate the kind words and advice .

Hi Kiph:

John Lawrence Schick is probably the only guy here making an income from his music compositions. He uses Music Libraries to more or less "lease" his work to paying users in the film or TV Industry, etc. He is a long time "resident" of JPF and often posts items of wit or interest on the "shout box."

Find his name, click on the Personal Message link and send him the message about your music marketing needs. He will probably "pull my chain" for using his precious time... but he is a "Prince" of a fellow.

Regards, ----Dave

I started to do that with an old producer last year but he fell ill and quit.

Great lyric, Carroll. Nice tune that complements it well. I get that same feeling of awe at Nature's beauty sometimes. When it happens, it can be pretty intense. I've tried to capture it in song before. I sense the same emotion here, and I think you express it beautifully. Is this about Alaska?

Upper California coast. Olympic forest. Never been there but visited yosimite as as kid.

Ah, I thought Alaska because of the aurora borealis. It's beautiful anyway.

All imagination anyway
Best to leave a lot of songs up to imagination. Sometimes Im vague on purpose.
