Ok. Wrote this at work today so it's probably VERY rough. Thanks for the continuing comments and ideas; they're all appreciated.

Blake, this is a riot!! Loved the stringer/cooked line. Reminds me of one from years back that was hysterically funny. I think the name of it was "I Had Her But I Lobster" or something like that. I remember the lady that wrote it quite well but not her name. I think her nickname was Sparky and she lived in Nashville. good luck with this one!! IP: Logged |

Blake, go to BMI and ASCAP online and do a song title search. Let me know if you find it. Its driving me crazy trying to remember who wrote it. I remember she was married to someone well known (could have been another writer in Nashville) and they were divorcing at that time. I think the husband was a writer on it also. It was a natural hoot!! IP: Logged |

blake, this is funny and well put together. Just one little nit. In the first verse using the word "then" twice so close together just throws me off. I think if you changed one to "and" it'd help. Sorry to be so picky I guess it's past my bedtime. This is a good strong idea well executed. Funny how the silliest things can get us started. Keep watchin' those commercials! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hi blake...I'm trying to catch up on so many I missed, so I'm a little late to this party...but what a party! I have found...in my "long" experience with writing (about 6 mo.), that when you get writer's block, writing something fun or silly helps to break you out. Which is why I have about 9000 silly songs. (LOL) Anyway, the only eentsy-weentsy "nit" I had was the one Tom mentioned...the 2 "then's". Great song.
