Ok. Wrote this at work today so it's probably VERY rough. Thanks for the continuing comments and ideas; they're all appreciated.

Go Fish

Copyright Blake Hill 2001

This romance is changing, at least it is for me
I'm tired of always giving, all you do is receive
I keep taking your bait, and you set your hook
Then I'm put on a stringer, and end up getting cooked

Chorus:
I've got it figured out
Now I realize
It doesn't always taste good
If it looks good to the eyes
You're wanting me now
To grant another wish
I've got one thing to say to that:
Go fish

This romance is over, I've finally snapped the line
I'm going for deep cover, I won't change my mind
Don't try to cast a net, to catch me when i go
Don't ask for my love again, its not here anymore

Bridge:
I'm all outta that
So don't even try
Go throw your lies
On some other guy

Repeat Chorus

You're wanting me now
To grant another wish
I've got one thing to say to that:
Go fish

Blake, this is a riot!! Loved the stringer/cooked line. Reminds me of one from years back that was hysterically funny. I think the name of it was "I Had Her But I Lobster" or something like that. I remember the lady that wrote it quite well but not her name. I think her nickname was Sparky and she lived in Nashville. good luck with this one!!

Blake, go to BMI and ASCAP online and do a song title search. Let me know if you find it. Its driving me crazy trying to remember who wrote it. I remember she was married to someone well known (could have been another writer in Nashville) and they were divorcing at that time. I think the husband was a writer on it also. It was a natural hoot!!

blake, this is funny and well put together. Just one little nit. In the first verse using the word "then" twice so close together just throws me off. I think if you changed one to "and" it'd help. Sorry to be so picky I guess it's past my bedtime. This is a good strong idea well executed. Funny how the silliest things can get us started. Keep watchin' those commercials!

Hi blake...I'm trying to catch up on so many I missed, so I'm a little late to this party...but what a party! I have found...in my "long" experience with writing (about 6 mo.), that when you get writer's block, writing something fun or silly helps to break you out. Which is why I have about 9000 silly songs. (LOL)
Anyway, the only eentsy-weentsy "nit" I had was the one Tom mentioned...the 2 "then's". Great song.
