hello,

I'm curious if
anyone knows anything about nashvillesongservice.com?

one of my readers wrote that
she won a contest they were hosting.

My initial impression is they seem similar to paramount,
anyone have any dealings with them or comments about them

I just checked out their website...I have a feeling you're right - they sound a lot like the Paramount Group...

just stuff like they

+ don't use their full names

+ use initials in their "client testimonials" section

+ specifically mention "song poem"
"If you write lyrics or song poems"

+ they mention "the writers can make up to $500,000.00 - or even $1,000,000.00 on a smash hit."

+ they charge $20.00 per song to enter their contest

+ offer to make videos

just seems smarmy to me

Ande,

I think common sense combined with your points alone give us all the answer.

Ande,

Quite some time ago we did a little experiment on this site. A bunch of members took turns writing the worst lines they could think of to complete a lyric that made no sense at all. It was titled "Uppsy Uppsy Daisy" and it was truly dreadful. We then sent the lyric to a company that promised a FREE evaluation (as well as other Paramount-like services for a fee). Our crappy lyric received a glowing evaluation. The company was nashville song service.

'nuff said!

Ande! Don't know if you'd remember David Robinson from the Nashville area, also a up and comint member of the "Orbies".....he'd mentioned when Paramount tried to start up their business, that they'd offered David himself, cowriting place....and as it turned out, David was already doing demo work on his own time, in his own house and all was his own debts....but when Paramount wrote the contract for the "demo" for "hire" that they'd had assigned David and/or other musicians....those musicians didn't get much credit where it ws due!
I don't think that David or anyone else that started out with them will be continuing with them.....just a reminder how a "company" can easily pull the "blinders' clear over the eyes and that narrows the visual field down considerable...
So I think it might work out now to use David's demo services.....Also got a letter from a "Jerry" who's house burned to the ground Christmas Eve night! It just so happened that the firefighters were able to go in and "cover" all his CD's , some were masters, others were copies to be sent somewhere else....but it seems by putting the blue walmart tarps over all that kept it all salvedgable! His wife's three tiny little dogs woke them all up or else they'd all probably would've had so much'noxious" gas carbons in their lungs, they couldn't breathe.....So here's a great big "thank God for Jerry and family!
