Damn!

Is being born in '53 not young enough?
Getting out the calculator. It's nearby from those "rblight" math related posts.

Ok,,,,,let's see,,,,,,DAMN!

Age Discrimination! Age Discrimination!
("My wallet's gone, my wallet's gone")

You mean I've been walking four miles a night for nothing?! And playing and singing everyday for hours for nothing?! And eating fish like a bear for nothing? Well, OK, that's not true. I do love to play and sing for just one person if they are willing to listen. (I have a voucher for that one....Kate from The Regent Theater who I played for at the entrance/exit doors, where a pic on this page was taken at) And the pic will maybe show that I'm not decreped). http://www.songplanet.com/artists/bands/1572/
I just can't spell every word ever thought up! Decrepid? ed, or id? Damn...Never mind.

And I do like to be healthy. So OK< I do those things for other reasons than being the next woopdi-do American Idol. But DAMN! Too OLD?.... Old Mold! Opps,,,,not a good choice of words. Old Smold! Yeah, that's better. Don't they know there's a market for us "slightly" older musicians? Oh,,,there isn't? Damn! Get out there you old farts and buy something NEW already!

WEll,,,,They'll see,,,,or rather the people in the front row seats at my next little performance will see. They better have strong hearts, and their chairs bolted down!

Damn! I mean, John Daubert

Disclaimer: I don't remember what I say half the time, so unless I read this in one hour,,,,,only half happened. And it's going to be just those "Damn" words

Damn!

LOL, John I am so glad that I am way too old and cynical to give a sh*t about AI. I guess I just feel bad for all those talented folks out there who let a show like that define their musical worth for them

here's the austin audition details

Austin, Texas
Thursday, August 25, 2005
Frank C. Erwin, Jr., Special Events Center
ATTENTION: AUSTIN, TEXAS AUDITIONERS ONLY!

The following information relates to the audition schedule in Austin, Texas for August 25, 2005. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY.

DUE TO THE HIGH HEAT TEMPERATURES IN TEXAS DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST, AMERICAN IDOL IS CHANGING HOW THE LINE AND AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD IN AUSTIN, TEXAS ON AUGUST 25, 2005. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT ANY OTHER CITIES ON THE AMERICAN IDOL AUDITION SCHEDULE.

The American Idol Producers will begin wristbanding and ticketing on Tuesday, August 23 and will continue this process through Wednesday, August 24 and until the early morning of August 25, the day of the actual auditions. THERE WILL BE NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE FRANK ERWIN CENTER but the wristband registration will continue. All regular Audition rules apply.

The reason for this is public safety. We want to avoid having a long line outside and do not want anyone waiting for an extended period of time in the Texas heat.

WRISTBAND & TICKET
When you arrive at the Frank Erwin Center, the line will form in front of Gate B (West side of building, one level up from street level). You are allowed one (1) person to accompany you to the audition and since we are issuing SEAT TICKETS, you and that person must be present TO RECEIVE A WRISTBAND AND TICKET. No exceptions. You cannot pick up a wristband or ticket for anyone other than yourself. Minors must bring their Parent or legal Guardian with them as well. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE AUDITIONS OR TICKETS AND WRISTBANDS ARE NOT FOR SALE.

Once you have your wristband and ticket, you AND YOUR ONE GUEST will need to return to the Frank Erwin Center on Thursday, August 25 starting at 5:00AM. At that time, you will need to bring your two forms of ID (picture and birth certificate, or driver’s license or passport, something that proves how old you are and who you are). You must have your wristband and ticket as well. If you lose your ticket or wristband, you will go to the end of the line (so don’t lose them). NO EXCEPTIONS. Minors must bring their Parent or legal Guardian with them and remain with them while at the auditions. The auditions will begin sometime around 8:00AM on August 25. You will need to be in your seat at that time.

Please do not arrive any earlier than Tuesday, August 23. There is no benefit to being first in line. On TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY, we will have plenty of time to ISSUE WRISTBANDS AND SEAT TICKETS to those who will attend the auditions. Please read the list of items you can and cannot bring to the audition here in the FAQs. Remember to bring water, hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. It’s going to be hot.

Parking Information for the Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas

Please read carefully. The following information is provided to you as a courtesy. American Idol assumes no responsibility for any parking before, during or after the auditions. Please respect the University and observe all posted signs at all times.

During the run of American Idol auditions, UT Will be in intersession. Parking at the "C" lots and "Longhorn" lot (formerly known as "Any UT Permit" lots) will be open 24 hours at no cost to the public. These lots are open to the public and may have limited spaces available. Locations and number of spaces of these surface lots are as follows:

“C” LOTS:
70 & 99: South of Mike A. Myers Soccer and Track Stadium
80: East of the School of Social Work and Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center

“LONGHORN” LOTS (formerly known as Any UT Permit):
41: South of Frank Denius Field
103: North of Disch-Falk Field
104: West of Disch-Falk Field
106 & 111: On Manor Road between Chicon Street and Salina Street
109, 110, 113, 114: North of Red & Charlene McCombs Field
115: East of Red & Charlene McCombs Field
117: East of Disch-Falk Field

UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS PARKING GARAGES:
There are 3 UT parking garages in the vicinity of the Frank Erwin Center.
Daily rates for the University Of Texas Garages are: $7 Per Day, first come, first served.
Brazos Garage: 210 E. MLK Boulevard - Located between MLK and Jester Circle
Manor Garage: 2017 Robert Dedman Drive - Across the street from Darryl K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium
Trinity Garage: 1815 Trinity Street - On the corner of MLK and Trinity.

ADDITIONAL TIPS ON PARKING NEAR THE FRANK ERWIN CENTER:
Do not park in the neighborhood to the east of the Frank Erwin Center. Your vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense. Do not park in the State of Texas parking garages from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (during working hours). If you do park there, be warned, the least you will get is a ticket. The worst, your vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense. Parking for the Disabled is available near the Frank Erwin Center on a first come, first served basis.

This information may change so check back often.
