I’m not here to place bets or debate geopolitics at that level. For what it’s worth, there was a nuclear agreement with Iran (the JCPOA) that addressed these concerns before it was abandoned by Trump in 2018.

A truly thinking person has to look at this situation,
assess probable outcomes as best they can with the information available to them.
and decide what they think is predicted to be the outcome yielding the "greatest good."
That is what we are watching play out right now.
That is almost always going to involve picking a side.
