Do I consider any publisher the infallible last word? Hell no. But if they can actually get your song cut by an artist, then suddenly their opinion carries a whole lot more weight. Not because they’re prophets or geniuses — because they can make something happen. In this business, everybody’s got opinions. Writers, critics, drunks at the bar, guys online with “industry knowledge.” But a publisher who can turn a song into mailbox money? That’s different. Results talk louder than philosophy. At the end of the day, songs aren’t museum pieces. They’re meant to move people, open doors, and hopefully pay some bills before they’re playing dirt over your grave. So no, I don’t worship publishers — but if somebody can get your song recorded and earning money, I’m smart enough to listen.

"Do not endeavor to be the smartest kid in a dumb class. Instead, you are better off being the dumbest kid in the smartest class, where you will be challenged and you will learn. If you aren't growing, you are dying." -Brian Austin Whitney
