I couldn't understand the Lyric as sung. Enunciation is of strategic importance. 90% of listeners can't carry a tune, but they can be Hooked by words, and then they can sing along, even off-key. But they have to understand the words. The Title is a 'grab'. You don't read "God's Cadillac" without curiosity making ya...well...curious. I decided to listen through to see if I did get some of it. That caused me to perceive Structure. Verse/Chorus/Verse/Chorus/Instrumental Bridge/ Verse/Chorus recitation style delivery. It works, and works well. I'm going to listen and read again to see if there's Hard Rhyme. Seemed like it was obscure, two listens, one read now. But, I think I like it! I'm trying to 'cover' it on guitar. Key of E? I've listened multiple times to transcript the Lyric. 14 'hits' on THE Hook, the Title Line. That is 'strong'. They'll hear it once, and know it forever. Take this 'product' to market! Cadillac had a commercial some years back singing, if memory serves, "Cadillac Style! Cadillac Style!". I wanted to send them a Cease and Desist Order from the Dallas Cattlemen's Association, complaining that 'Cattle do NOT lack style."
"God's Cadillac" copyright May 27, 2026 by bennash, Elvis Nash. (2:53 short enough to get radio play, keeping them listening until the commercials can play, paying the bills)
I'm transcripting from the Closed Captions that come up. I think they miss some words altogether, and mishear others.)
(Introductory Movement, 0:16 seconds, Irish-y feel) (Verse I) I was walking a neon road, hitchhiking my way to hell, when a shiny, blue car pulled up, a '64 Coupe DeVille! Couldn't see the driver's face! There was a blinding white light! Then it started to rain! And I jum-ped inside!
(Chorus) 0:42 (Obeying The Rule: Don't bore us! Get to the Chorus! And you do!) I'm in God's Cadillac! God's Cadillac! Kiss in the middle! And the Holy Ghost in back! God's Cadillac! God's Cadillac! Me ridin' shotgun! There's room, for the world! 0:57
1:05 (Verse II) There were billboard signs for sex and alcohol! But we passed the exit in a NASCAR Bristol. The devil tried to flag us down at the top of the hill! But we stepped on the gas, ran him down like road kill!
1:22 (Second giving of the Chorus, driving home THE Hook, the Title Line)
I'm in God's Cadillac! God's Cadillac! She's in the middle! And the Holy Ghost in back! God's Cadillac! God's Cadillac! Be a right shot on this road, for the world!
1:41 (Instrumental Bridge)
(Vocal/Lyrical Bridge) 1:55 It's got white leather seats, chrome grill!
2:00 I'm in God's Cadillac! God's Cadillac! The Jesus in the middle! And the Holy Ghost in back! God's Cadillac! God's Cadillac! We ridin' shotgun!
(Coda; final Musical Movement) God's Cadillac! God's Cadillac! That's all for the world!
Verse III) 2:25 I was walking a neon road, hitchhiking my way to hell, when his shiny, blue car pulled up, a '64 Coupe DeVille! Couldn't see the drive of his face! There was a blinding white light! Then it started to rain! And I jum-ped inside! 2:53
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

"The standard by which I now measure the things in my life is the following: If I was on my death bed, or if I knew I had a short time to live, would this issue be important? If the answer is no.. I don't sweat it at all. If the answer is Yes, you better believe it goes to the front of the order of today's business!" -Brian Austin Whitney
