Timing,,,,,,,The subject "sad" hits home with me right now for I just got done writing what to me is now the saddest song I know.

Long story. (I understand if it's too long to fully read). It's something that very few people knew or know about even now, or rather, up to now.

Well, ten years ago, I REGRETFULLY left my current darling, beautiful, caring, loving wife because of my selfishness, (as I then soon found out). Lets just say I wasn't getting my way in some areas with her, and was also depressed over what else, the music business trials and whatnot. I really hurt her with very mean words and conclusions about her. I even criticized her weight besides everything else. I was a major jerk that night and for several weeks before that. On the third night after leaving, Buddy, my best friend/cowriter refused to go out to the clubs with me, as he said he just didn't think it was what I needed. THAT shocked me, as I thought that's exactly what I needed.

He said a few things of his usual wisdom, and I said "yeah yeah, I know" but in a ho hum way. I went to sleep that night, but kept having dreams about my wife and I, then would wake up and remember all of it. That kept happening through that night, until the early morning when I woke up after the last dream about us, and COMPLETELY realized how I really hurt my wife, and how I needed to correct all that was said, (Somehow!) It was a life changing series of dreams. I knew I had changed through that night, to get back to the way I was in the past. I went back to our townhouse before she went to work, and asked her to take off that day, that I had to talk with her. After some time with me talking with smiles for a change, she must have seen the good old me again, and accepted my sincere regrets. She then laid out some changes I should think about doing, which I already knew what they were, and how to change them. WE had a plan to work things out together! I knew then, just as on our wedding day that I was married to someone so special, that I could never hurt her. But now, it's that I could never hurt her again. That's what inspired this song, and is what gets to me everytime I sing it, (the hurt she must have felt). It's the hurt I know she felt that makes this positive song the saddest of sad songs for me. It's called "Never Again".

Thanks for reading this most personal subject.

To add a related tip: Don't EVER hurt the one you loved, even if you think you don't love them anymore. You just might, more than you think.
