I don't know about changing strings, but know it is possible to replace one when it breaks because I used to break a lot of strings before i started using leather picks.seems the melting plastic had some effect on the strings and made them brittle so when I bent a note any more than an octave they would snap like carots carrotts carrits. You know them long orunge things you grate and put in coleslaw to make it almost edable, eatable, good enough to call food.
Now the smoke from the leather when i get going seems to mellow me out some and I get all layed back and sure does save on strings.
