Oh Mike, the problem with having no holes in the Telecaster of course also points the way to the solution. Since there is no hole for the pick to fall through in the first place, I can only surmise it is stuck flat to the body somewhere.
My suggestion is to give it a close shave.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop
