mechanicals should be paid up front, they are paid based on the # of CDs manufactured (not what is sold). ((Film/tv) Synch licences will also be paid up front.)
your PRO will pay you the performance/songwriting royalties about 9 months after play in a registered venue or commercial radio station, etc. Check with your PRO about how often they remit to you.
If your publishing is paying you that information will be contained in your agreement (for example, statements & payments every 6 months).
