I write because it's cathartic and much cheaper than therapy. Sometimes it's a way for me to tell my deepest, darkest secrets - I can always claim "poetic license" and no one is the wiser  Then people have to guess which ones are based on truth and which are merely my imagination. Trust me, some of the stuff I've written about is too bizarre for me to just think up. I write to exorcise demons. It seems I write best when life seems dismal, hopeless and bleak. I DEFINITELY don't write for the money. I just received my first Royalty Check last week and there's no chance of retiring any time soon on royalties alone!  But mostly, I write so I can breathe...
