Easier said than done, but yes, that's what some of us are currently doing. It will take off eventually.

File sharing is double-edged. It works for new artists who want to get their material out and give them exposure, but once they have a following, wouldn't it be nice to get paid once in a while?

Not that it is too much of a concern right now, getting paid. My music is available as MP3 streams. Everyone who wants to listen can listen to them. It's a different matter if they want to download.

I have been thinking of making it "donation-ware," which is something like what you have been doing.
