There are 2 ways to make beer bread. One way: 3 cups self rising flour 3 tablespoons sugar 1 12 ounce can of beer Sift flour in a large mixing bowl. Mix all ingredients together with wooden spoon, then spoon into greased 5x9" loaf pan and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Allow to cool 30 minutes before cutting with serrated knife. The other way: 3 cups all purpose flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons sugar 1 12 ounce can beer Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in a large mixing bowl. Combine rest of ingredients and stir together with wooden spoon, then spoon into greased 5x9" loaf pan and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Allow to cool for 30 minutes before cutting with serrated knife.
"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

"First came if only? Then came what if? After that I'll bet. Next was just maybe. Followed by Aha, I thought so! And eventually, okay, what next!" -Brian Austin Whitney on the stages of creativity and Just Plain Folks.
