Shameless self promotion work? Well, of course it does! It's far better than just assuming word of mouth will reach the masses. Nothing wrong with it at all. If someone reads the ad, they know something they didn't before hand. If they click the link or go to the site, they've got something to do, if they like it, they'll pass it on, what could be better than that?
Look, Naomi Sue just sent you to April Johns page, to look at her banner, will you check out her whole page? You just might...and if so, you may add her to something, or tell someone about either the banners or April. Not bad for one little "look at this and see what I can do" post. Now two people get looked at, instead of just one. If you were to add April to your own myspace, you have your friends list now possibly curious about her. Hmm. doesn't get better than that!
