WHAT, IF ANYTHING, IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 'PURE LYRICS' AND THE WORDS OF A SONG?

Please don't think I'm picking on you , but this is IMO another badly worded question.

I think you are looking for some deeper meaning or magical transformation that does not exist

Much as a poem has a definition, a biography has a definition, a novel says what it is, etc, a lyric is, by definition, the words to a song, so once a "written work" is put to music, it becomes a lyric. There is no magic here.

Before that, it is simply a written work, prose, poetry, call it what you like.

What was 'Turn, Turn, Turn" before it was a lyric? A bible passage. "You are a child of the universe" was a poem later put to music, at which point it became the lyric to the song. No magic, it's a word that is simply a "meaningful label" ...so we can talk about it
