...I recommend Reaper which you can download and try for free for a month. If you like it, you can buy it for about $50 and it is frequently updated at no charge... Recently the Reaper developers increased the trial period to 60 days. Even if you ultimately settle on a different DAW application, Reaper is a handy tool to have on your computer for various tasks.
