"Limited Character" by Dave Gill (C) 2013

I met her on the internet
Following Brad Paisley
She just learned 'bout the Twitter
And thought it was amazing
Emoticons were smiling
and we kept on LOL'ing
Where all of this was headed
well, there really was no telling

Days went into weeks
and our feelings grew much stronger
The short and sweet and quick replies
Started to get longer
The thoughts I tried conveying
had quickly filled the space
Until the day my message
forced a palm up to my face

I'm a man of limited character
one hundred forty keys
That's all that I can use
to let her know
how much she means
There isn't enough acronyms
To prove my heart is true
I guess I'm stuck here typing
that I less than three you too
What can I do?

I know this isn't the best way
for me to fall in love
I could have met her at a bar
or local dancing club
But I don't want her knowing
My profile isn't real
So I use abbreviations
to tell her how I feel

I'm a man of limited character
one hundred forty keys
That's all that I can use
to let her know
how much she means
There isn't enough acronyms
To prove my heart is true
I guess I'm stuck here typing
that I less than three you too
What can I do?

Now I know that some are sayin'
That what I do is wrong
But what she doesn't know
will keep the love between us strong

I'm a man of limited character
one hundred forty keys
That's all that I can use
to let her know
how much she means
There isn't enough acronyms
To prove my heart is true
I guess I'm stuck here typing
that I less than three you too
What can I do?
