I agree with Scott and Todd. I enjoy interacting with and hearing from a lot of folks on the mp3 board. I think setting up genre specific forums would delute the pool, so to speak. I don't know how many would take the time to discover what is going on outside of their particular genre. One thing I'd rather not see is where we have a forum for more advanced production quality vs. more scratch productions and demos. The former tends to focus more on production prowess over time and the art of the song itself is lost. I think most of us can look past the facade of the production value and appreciate the songs themselves and hear in their heads what it might sound like if fully produced. There are some here that don't perhaps possess the equipment or the experience to make great sounding recordings but are still legitimate lyrical poets and even compose melodies/progressions that are compelling. I'd hate to have to wade through a myriad of various forums to check everything out when my time and attention span might be limited. If they are all there on the same page I can at least be notified by visiting one forum under one roof that Scott Campbell, for instance, or a host of others have a new song up when I may have skipped over them otherwise. Just my 2 cents worth but now that I've said it...The great and powerful Oz has spoken. Stevie
I'm the only person here who is not unique.
