Hi everyone....it's been a busy year....and very hard to get any of my songs recorded...Here's a 3-piece arrangement that I hope you like....let me know what you think, with any and all impressions. It's what I live for!! (well, almost ;-))
Thanks........... -Tom

“Starry-Eyed” By Tom Tognaci

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12495571

She trampled on the moon
As her tears fell in its light
With eyes shadowed in gloom
Oh, how she loathed it’s lonely sight

But, how many nights did she plead to that ole moon
She lifted her prayers to that gentle face to find her soon
But, he never came...

She knew nothing about love
She was just a lonely girl
Who asked that moon above
To help her find love in this world

Yes, how many nights did she plead to that ole moon
She lifted her prayers to that gentle face to find her soon
But, he never came...
No, he never came...

Well, that moon came tumbling down
And proposed upon its knees
But, the star she thought she found
Turned out to be merely cheese

But, how many nights did she plead to that ole moon
She lifted her prayers to that gentle face to find her soon
But, he never came...
No, he never came...
No, he never came...

Hi Tom,

WOW..............what a nice song.
And a very beautiful performace.
Hard for me to believe 28 people have listened to this and didn't have something to say, perhaps you left them speechless !

ps....I like a song with some cheese in it :-)

I agree with Calvin! Maybe folks were just half asleep Calvin this time of the day!

Tom, nice write, I got a little "Kansas" feel from this--good melody and music/lyric flow. Interesting lyrics, poetic yet light-hearted a well.

steady-eddie.

Such a pretty melody Tom and lyric to match. So dreamy!

The emotional pause is perfect.

Really enjoyed it my friend, especially the guitar playing!!

Tom,

A beautiful song with a beautiful lyric - and a wonderful performance.

Here's a thought - and as is often said... just an opinion.

I think the song would be more effective if you swap verses around. One of two ways.

Swap verses 1 and 2.

Or.. even more dramatic...
make verse 2, verse 1
make verse 3, verse 2
make verse 1, verse 3

Good to see you posting, Tom. Song sounds great. Lyrically, I'm not sure how the star/cheese thing works and the gird/world, love/above verse is a tad chiched. But overall, the song works really well

Very nicely done Tom.
One sugg to avoid the moon repetition.
"But, how many nights did she plead, as dreamers do".

-Hi Calvin.......thanks for listening and commenting!1 Really....28? That's got to be a record, for a late night post...for me anyways ;-) Thanks again!!

-Thanks Steady-Eddie......Your comment is very much appreciated!!

-Hi Tams!! Your "Bubbly" tune reminds me a bit of this one of mine...folky and fun! I'm glad you like this one of mine...I'm not so sure this one will go over very well ;-)

-Hi Michael....yea! anything with the stars, the moon, or the sun...or any combination of the three...I'm hooked. I'm liking the latest one of yours, by the way!!! Thanks for sharing!

-Hi floyd jane...thanks soooo much for stopping by. I mulled the verse placements over, a bit. I concluded that I prefered to sing the ending, first...then tell the story leading up to the tragic ending! Thanks for noticing!

-Thank you, Cecilee, for your fine comment, and for listening. It's much appreciated!

-Hi Bill....you know me, I can't pass up a well worn cliche, if it fits...I think the spin of the story is what sold me. Always nice to hear from you....and I must say, you have some stellar stuff going on!

-And hi Vic....thanks for the suggestion....and thank you sooo much for giving my little tune a listen! I appreciate it!!!

Hi Tom,

You know, I was asking my moon to bring me a new Tom Tognaci tune -- and my moon sure didn't let me down! I listened and I'm moonstruck!
