I had the opportunity to record another great song penned by Tim Keesee/James Richardson.Hope y'all enjoy.. https://soundcloud.com/jimmy-luker/rocky-mountain-bluesRocky Mountain Blues © James Richardson/Tim Keesee V1 I dialed your number up just to hear you say hello Been a while, how ya’ been, how’s life in Colorado Savannah’s still the same, ain’t much here that’s changed Well maybe there’s one thing, the missin’ you won’t go away CH I’ve got these Rocky Mountain blues in Georgia without you Old mem’ries roam my mind when I close my eyes Can’t stand hearin’ that door slam again While pretendin’ I’m amused Girl, my pride’s seein’ red Through these Rocky Mountain blues V2 It was love at first sight when I saw your angel face What I wouldn’t give right now to relive those yesterdays You tell me that you’ve moved on, you’re through livin’ in the past I say the past is the one thing left between us that’ll last REPEAT CH V3 How could I just let you leave with so much for me to lose Girl, my pride’s seein’ red through these Rocky Mountain blues Yeah, my pride’s seein’ red, my pride’s seein’ red Through these Rocky Mountain blues

Hi Jimmy!
You hang out here and make a few comments in the forum, you'll get more action.
I love the tonal quality with your production here. I kind of feel an "Alabama" influence here a bit--cool country song here. A couple spots are a little "pitchy" with the lead vocal, but I think you have a really nice timbre with your voice. The lyrics work well with your mood as well--nice write!

Great voice. I liked geographical references. Sad country songs.... just can't get enough of them!
Thanks again for sharing.

Jimmy--
I agree with Vic: Vern Gosdin is written all over this one--He was a favorite of mine for years--Good luck with this fine song!

Classic country sound to this. I thought this did what it was supposed to do very nicely. The one line that I didn't particularly like was "While pretendin I'm amused", in the chorus. It sounded like it was kind of put there for lack of a better line/rhyme idea, instead of because it contributed to the song. I'm not sure, maybe that's exactly what you wanted to say, but to me it just seemed a little bit odd of a word choice for the situation. Overall, I really enjoyed the listen. Good job, and good luck with it!

Thanks for the listen Avweek, appreciate the critique.I will have to go give this one a fresh listen.I get wrapped up sometimes when learning one and recording that I hear it too much and start missing things.I find that if I stay away from it for a short time and go back I hear different things.
