Hello all, This is not a Christmas song, but wanted to write and record something upbeat to start the new year off right. I certainly would appreciate any feedback you can offer. Happy holidays to you all. My favorite time of year. MOVIN' ON Words & Music by David S. Becker © 2014 David S. Becker Music https://soundcloud.com/gocartmoz/movin-on-take-2 INTRO VERSE 1 Hey man, it's time to let it go Forget the hate It will destroy your soul Now listen Only you can choose a better path to take No time like now to change the bed you make CHORUS Hey man, it's time for Movin' On Down the road to a brand new song The year will end and then a new one starts Don't let the pain destroy your heart VERSE 2 All these years you've harbored jealousy While time flew by So blind you couldn't see Now listen There ain't no secret now to gettin' on Just dig down deep And slowly move along REPEAT CHORUS BRIDGE I found myself just walking all alone On a bright spring day I was stressed, I was mad I was foamin' just a tad I had lost my way So I looked to the sky With wondrous eyes For a way out of all of this hurt Then a man came to me And he said patiently Son it's time to move on SOLO REPEAT CHORUS OUTRO

Big time intro gets it started off just right. Nice tones and recordings of the guitars tracks and the vocals and harmonies are killer. Oh yeah, that’s one smoking solo.
Love the energy and production.
You are one talented son of a gun.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful feedback / critique wise but it passes my ear and groove test.

Looking promising, Dave. Maybe turn down that funky guitar during the verses. I think it distracts from the vocal and everything else there.

Yep, hate is like weeds in a garden. Eventually it chokes everything out. Great lyric and production. MUCH enjoyed. it.

Nice sound and production, the intro is pretty good. Going back to what Vic mentioned, I am not 100% sure that the vocals are mixed in quite right for this tune. Nothing really wrong, but they seem a bit disconnected from the musical tracks. Maybe the lead vox just needs more energy and "desperation". I could be wrong, but I've been wrong before. it seems like a springsteen type of track -- nice lead break in there.

Dave,
A good write. Good vocals and solos.
I really like the delay guitar in the bridge.
A good energy to this.

Hey Dave,
Nice song here, good performance and a very cool pop vibe.
I think you can polish the production a bit in places such as: more crack on the snare & slightly less brightness with the HH which is now masking the snare a little. I'd keep your rhythm riffs back a little in the mix to allow your lead vox to dominate a bit more--especially in the more subtle bridge.
Really nice Dave, you're a talented composer, good lyrics too!

Wonderful message with a great deal of meaning for me personally these days. Although, in my case, there was no man to tell me, just my common sense that doesn't speak up often enough. Very upbeat for us chair dancers. Well done. Ricki
