Such a brilliant man. Talented, nurturing, humorous, far too many superlatives for one of my posts. Although he will be inextricably linked with The Beatles, his non-Beatle catalogue is phenomenal too.

I think he is 90% responsible for their sound and timeless arrangements. Without him, the technology just didn't exist for them to have achieved so much in such a short time. They might never have stayed together or even begun to realize their creative potential. His work has influenced nearly all music sound, arrangement and production since. Irreplaceable in music history.

Agreed completely. It was a match made in heaven of sorts. He found four EXTREMELY creative guys who were game to his innovations. The rest is history.
